Interesting article on women and gray hair

Saw this on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal.

I was just at a party last weekend, and one of the women there (who is probably in her late 30's or so) was sporting gray hair. It looked nice on her.

That is an interesting article.  I'm in the camp that it makes me look old, imo.  Plus, I'm not totally gray.  I need to look as young as possible for my career, anyway.  The older you get in marketing, the more disposable you are.  JMO

I hope I look as good as the woman in the photos when I'm that gray!

I looks well on women with naturally black or dark brown hair. I started going grey very early, after my mom, who also got grey hair early, about 30 years old. So, now, when my natural color is med. reddish brown ( many call me red head), when I have no means to see the hair stylist   - it looks awful, too much grey hair on red/brown make it look like....oih...gives me heartbreak every  time i see myself in the mirror.

I'm starting to get a few grays. I have very dark brown hair and I hate having my hair dyed so I think a lot about what I'm going to do. I used to highlight my hair for many years and always disliked how often I had to get it redone and how it stripped my hair of its health and shine. I always felt that I spent more time having roots than having a nice color job so I eventually decided to grow it out. I had to go for monthly color washes (temporary) every month so that I could grow it out gracefully. 6 years later and I haven't looked back so I am dreading the time when I have to decide: let it grow gray or start dying again.

My female (and at least 2 male) cousins and I all go gray in the exact same spots. It's patches around the temples, which looks good on the guys, but not on the girls. I've been dying my hair since my late 20's because of it. Our mom's are sisters and they let themselves go completely gray in their 60's.

I'm 31 and I have zero gray hairs (knock on wood) and my mom, who is 55 only has a few strays. I'm hoping I follow suit and don't have to deal with this for a long while. But I do think if the hair is silvery gray it can look really sophisticated and almost regal. But yellow-grays sometimes just look blah.
