Stamps for the troops
Permalink Closed

I wanted to pass this link along.  I got it in my Daily Candy email and was surprised to find that it was run by somebody in my general area.  I put 2 and 2 together and realized it's the same organization that I hear about on the news each year.   It's an organization that sends care packages to the troops overseas for Christmas.

They have a program that also collects stamps that are used to send letters to the soldiers for the holidays too.  It seems like such a simple and doable charitable thing to me.  All they ask is for people to send at least one unused stamp inside an envelope and they will use it to send the card to the soldier.   I was able to talk the bosses into letting me send a roll, but even one stamp is more more card they can send.

Here's the info and link if anyone is interested.

http://www.operationcarepackages.org/Christmas/Stamp-nForTheTroops.html

Please send one first class stamp (regular or larger) in an envelope and mark "STAMPS" on the outside.

Peel and stick stamps are preferable, but any type is appreciated.

PLEASE, do not hesitate to send "just one" stamp.

One stamp sends a card or letter to an injured Serviceperson.

One stamp can make a world of difference to a deployed Soldier who hasn't received any Holiday mail.
