As many of you know I've been looking for a dress for an upcoming wedding. Part of my problem is that due to a good deal of stress in my personal life, I've lost a good deal of weight (which I couldn't really afford to lose to begin with) and my entire wardrobe is now to large. Added to that is that I am now sized out of a lot...many dresses only go down to a 2 or a 0 and are still to big. Long story short...I spent all of yesterday searching for an affordable dress that would fit at 3 malls, and finally landed in Nordstrom at the Menlo Park mall. I found a dress that almost fit...but it was damaged and would have to still be tweaked a bit. The sales associate was amazing! First, she calmed me down from my body-dysmorphic panic, then pointed out the flattering features of the dress to my frame. The highlight though was that she took the dress down to tailoring immediately and had it fixed within an hour. Throughout the whole 'ordeal' she was so calm, considerate and full of suggestions. I had been having a horrible emotional hate-on-myself day, but that purchase brought it all around. So if you are in the area and need a dress, by all means go find Kimberly in the dress dept at Nordstrom!
I'm so glad you found a wonderful associate who was able to truly help you. When I worked retail in my teens and 20's, my yearly raise had customer reviews factored in. If you get a chance to write the store manager on your experience with this associate, it might help her come review time.
Hi Boots...I actually called the store the following day and spoke to her manager.
That's great! I'm sure her manager will take it into consideration during the review. Shows that if you treat somebody well, it will just come back to you eventually.
