Holy Shit, D! That looks amazing! The neighbors are thanking their lucky starts that you and hubby bought the place and fixed it up. What a beautiful home.
I know it has been beyond a pain in the butt, but it sure is worth it!
That's a magnolia tree, Boots -- it is the most beautiful magnolia tree I have ever seen in Michigan.
Greendiamond -- it feels so good to have everything start to fall into place. As for the neighbors, I think some are happy, and some are not. Those with the 15,000 square foot places around me wish it had been torn down and replaced with another 15,000 sq ft house to increase their property values. Plus, it's the first house you see when you enter the neighborhood from Woodward, so again, I think some would hope there was a behemoth showplace to greet visitors vs. our modest house. Either way, it looks sooooo much better than it used to! We feel very, very fortunate to have been able to buy it. I can tell you one thing, this is it - I hope to never live anywhere else for the rest of my life! Nice to have a home to settle into permanently, and the renovation blood, sweat, and tears are very rewarding :)
