Skin-Care/Anti-Aging/SPF/Botox/Renova/Etc in your late 20's

Hey Ladies!
I don't post too much but i check in daily.
Anyway, I'm turning 28 this week & was wondering if/when you started anti-aging programs & how aggressive you all are with your skin care.
I currently have no wrinkles, i wear SPF 30 daily, & get Botox in my forehead (1-2x a year), beside that i have no skin-care routine. Do you all have any favorite products or treatments or advice??? I'm open to every suggestion!

I just started using Differin, and I use eye cream nightly. I also do a glycolic or lactic acid peel 1-2x week, and I use spf every day.

It sounds like you have a good routine, but I'd recommend adding an eye cream and a retinoid at nighttime. That will go a long way to keeping wrinkles at bay. I'd also suggest doing a peel or enzyme treatment every week as well.

ETA: I'm 25, and I don't have any wrinkles, but I do have uneven skin tone.

I'm 24 and have a few wrinkles. I use a retinoid eye cream every other day (ROC) and random anti-aging stuff on my forehead. I wear sunscreen every day - make sure it says it's broad-spectrum on the label (which means it protects against UVA and UVB) because regular 30 SPF only has to protect against UVB, which isn't most of the aging rays.

I started using anti-wrinkle creams at 19. I'm 31 now and don't have a wrinkle in sight. My sister, who is 4 years younger, made fun of my 'old lady' products for years... She, however, does have some creases forming, and says she's sorry for giving me a hard time. I will admit 19 was probably early to start using anti-aging products.

I wear SPF daily and use a good moisturizer in the evening. I will be getting microderm abraision sometime this late fall/early winter. I haven't started with botox yet, but want to. Hubby is kinda against it, so I'm slowly bringing him around.

Recently I've been trying to find more skincare items that are free of parabens and other crap. I like the Skyn Iceland and Korres for some products.

Great question. I'm 39 and have started noticing "signs of aging" in the last 2-3 years. So now that the horse is gone, in the last year or so I've tried to shut the barn door. That means I've tried a handful of moisturizing and exfoliating products and not noticed anything that reverses the trend.

I have mostly stayed out of the sun. In addition to getting older, I believe my downfall was getting a cute pair of glasses. In the past I wore contacts + sunglasses, but I liked wearing my glasses so much, I ended up squinting whenever I was outside!

Check out Makeupalley.com for product reviews from real people if you have time. Chances are whatever product you're considering has been discussed and rated. I don't buy skincare without checking it out.

I doubt I would ever inject toxins into my face, and I'm very particular about ingredients such as artificial fragrances, chemicals or carcinogens. Perhaps if I was less picky, the products I choose would be more effective, appearance-wise, but that's a trade-off I'm not willing to make. I guess that's another "side effect" of aging...more concern for my long-term health!

I'm 38 and pretty much wrinkle free. Some of it is genetics, my mom has very few wrinles at 74. But in the last few years I started to get a brow furrow between my eyes. I've been using Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle Serum since August and the furrow is almost completely gone. It's a very light crease that you can only see up close if you're looking for it. I am beyond pleased with this product. It contains Retinol which I had always read was something derms recommend. It also has made my skin feel smoother and I think it may have even helped with some adult acne issues I had last year.

I also never leave the house without sunscreen and sun glasses. I wash the makeup off my face every night too, no matter how tired I am. I think it's made a difference. People tend to think I'm younger than I am. It used to bother me in my 20's, but in my 30's? I'm loving it.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies, I will definately be picking up an eye cream, and a peel at Sephora today, and i will look into all of the recommended brands!

Kelly, i had no idea about sunscreen, i use Kiehls (i just found out it it does take care of both UVA/UVB).

Suasoria, i had no idea about makeupalley! what a great sight, i to tend to go for more natural products too, so if i come across something great ill let you know!

Boots, thanks the "Neutrogena Serum" my co-worker has a brow furrow and this sounds like it might be a good option for her.

I am 29, no signs of aging, not even laugh lines. I use cleansers with glycolic to increase cell turnover. I also use philosophy help me and or derma doctor poetry in lotion. I have very oily skin but still opt for very very rich night creams such as Kinerase overnight treatment...

Hopefully this will keep the lines at bay. I always wear some type of SPF. Sadly I see people 23 who look older than my mom. They smile and the area around their eyes is sooooooooooo bad. Stay out of the sun as much as possible. I am hoping the great genes shall prevail.
Making sure your skin stays hydrated is key!

Hi, I'm 36 & also have wrinkle free face. I used to have a REALLY bad skin since teenage years, had to see cosmetologyst for that, she always told me to use eye cream, doesn't matter which, as long as I use it, so, I'e been using eye creams since I was in my very early 20s. It shows today. All I have - a few lines when I smile, as they call them mimic lines - that's natural. Also good genes...I use Garnier wrinkle filler, the latest I bought is from L'oreal, but I haven't opened it yet. So, I've been using those for the past 2-3 years, in places where usually wrinkles are...Also moisturizer, day/night (That is mailed to me from abroad, since the skin is still not as good & delicate & those work, so my mom mails me those, they're distributed mostly to cosmetologysts). BIG RAVE: serum by No.7 - in Target. It makes your face velvety/silky & you see the difference within a few days of using it. Apply it under moisturizer. I used to apply it once a day at your age, now twice, morning & evening. I"m personally afraind of Botox injections...

I am fair skinned and started using retin-a sometime in my early twenties, and also amped up the sunscreen about then, too. I've been lax about it lately since I work in a cube and rarely see the sun, and I didn't start minimal Botox/dysport injections until I turned 32. The Dysport is great, and I only need it 2-3 times a year, but I think the long-term retin-a use has had a big effect on my overall skin tone and has perhaps staved off some wrinkles. I have younger sisters who both look more wrinkly than I do. I really think that other than sunscreen, you need prescription-strength retinoids to see major change.

Eye creams reviews that help you find out the best eye cream for you. There are 1000s of eye creams but very few work. Read consumer reviews on wrinkleserased.com.
