This is the living room group I have been eyeing for quite some time. I'm going for dark brown wood, not black. What color of paint should I paint the walls? Should I use a cream like pictured or go for more of a brown? I'm not looking for anything wacky.
I think like a mocha color on the walls would be beautiful! I love that color blue and brown together! They have a suggestion of color matches in this months Domino mag. It's that color blue and a tanish brown color, They called it like mocha or something like that. I think it's on page 50. I will double check when I get home.
Good idea! I should go pick up that Domino mag and some other interior decorating books. I'm getting so stressed out now, I have to put together 6 rooms.
I love the way it is in that picture - that will be very pretty.
Don't freak out on having to put everything together! My mom gave me the best advice when I bought my house. You will live there forever & you don't have to do everything all at once. Just take your time & get things that you LOVE, don't settle for something just to fill a space (piece of furniture, picture, whatever). That is so hard, but it really was great advice. I ended up spending less money by waiting on the perfect things instead of settling just to get it done. It will all come together!
Good luck.

This is really excellent advice. Also, when I bought my house, I realized that I didn't have any spare money left to decorate it anyway. Once we got done with all the closing fees and actual home repairs, we were pretty tapped out in the money dept. I think it takes years to actually make a house look lived-in and comfortable.
Anyhoo...in answer to your question, I like the cream color (but a tan-cream, not a yellow-cream).
