I've heard that preference by L'Oreal is good for covering grays.

I use Garnier. It's pretty gentle on my hair and covers my grays.

I like Natural Instincts, and personally prefer demi-permanent color to permanent color for covering greys.  It totally eliminates having to 'grow out' or cover up a color, and you don't get any weird color changes like you can when permanent color fades out.

And, if you hate it, it goes away in 6 wks anyway!  Covers my greys just fine, and I have dark hair that makes a single grey stand out like none other!

I liked Garnier and also Feria def seemed richer in color.

Also, if still hesitant, you may be able to cut down on the cost of your salon visit - I usually skip a trim and blowout if getting color and it is more affordable.

also- give your stylist a ring- the times have shown a lot of people skipping or pushing back appointments... he/she can help you choose a color that may be less maintenance than what you had before... or maybe he/she has a color class coming up that he can use you as the model for... just a couple of thoughts before you go the store route...
