OK, I've only copied pics. to a floppy disk (old skool, I know! LOL), but now I need to know how to copy some pics. that I just scanned to a CD. My Dell comp. here in my bedroom has ONE CD drive, but do I need two CD drives to copy, or am I too tired? My comp. in the living room, it still works, but I need to take it in to the shop to get it 'fixed' and free from all the viruses it has on it, but I was able to still scan some pics. there, but now I can't retrieve them from the HP Gallery. Today SURE does feel like a Monday, I don't want to pay to have them scanned, when I have TWO scanners here - any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

do you mean you have 2 computers, one of which has the pictures, and you want to transfer them to the other computer?
what's your OS platform? windows 2000/me/xp or a mac?
if you have 700 megs extra space on your hard drive (or however much space your pictures take up), then you will not need 2 cd drives to copy. you just copy it to your hard drive, change the disc to an empty CD and then drag it in
Thanks for responding. I have two computers, one in the living room, one in the bedroom, one of them (liv. rm.) is infected, but I was still able to 'scan' the pics., but now I can't retrieve them to copy them. My bedroom computer is fine, I scanned the pics. also, but every time I 'thought' I inserted the disk into drive "E", it kept telling to insert it, so I don't know what I was doing wrong. Both computers work off Windows XP.

eek! infected computers are bad. if you can clean it up with an antivirus software, do it quick because it can be salvageable.
computers, especially those that run off of XP can be very and unexplainably fickle. try another blank CD, rebooting the computer etc. the error message you're getting is usually linked to the drive not being able to 'recognize' the disc, so either the disc can be faulty (hopefully) or it can be the drive and/or the connection between the drive and the rest of the computer. it's usually a problem with windows or the CD, so don't worry; just try turning the computer off and then on again. that usually does it for me
Thanks! I may try that when I get home; I have ALL the antivirus, spyware, etc. software out there, and I still have this FUNKY message on my screen, so I think I may take it in and have it reimaged, so I know that's gonna cost me some $$$. OH, I also talked to another friend of mine, she was telling me to see if I have a CD burner to copy the pics. onto the CD, and I don't know if the bedroom one has a burner! UGH! I may just take them to Walgreens and have them scanned, this is TOO MUCH FOR ME! LOL Thanks again.

you -might- have a worm, which are a little harder to pick up, especially if the spyware/antiviral software isn't updated every week or so. these suckers are sneaky
just for future notice, whenever you get repeated funky messages popping up, write down the exact phrase, and try googling it. it'll usually tell you what the problem is and if you click around, you'll find out how to get rid of it
LOL We just keep at it, don't we?! LOL Well, I wrote down the message and gave to one our IT guys, it say I have a DAMN Trojan-horse, or whatever, and that's the messages that tells me to run any spyware, anti-virus spyware I have. Is a Trojan-horse a worm??? I'm still new to this stuff....LOL

no, trojan horses are slightly different and can be worse, since it can allow a 'backdoor' for people to enter through and get information about you (CC#s, SSN, passwords, etc).
damn damn damn. I am having stupid pop ups like that too LovelyLady! How did you get rid of them? I know where they came from just don't know how to get rid of the darn things!
