I seen this at the Anthro in Kansas City, they had made shelves with the shelf brackets and fabric covered the wood and put pom-pom trim around the edge for the actual shelf. So I made myself one for my laundry room/mudroom, which will soon be painted a golden yellow color, so ignore the blah white walls And the lack of accessories...
I also had a shelf on the other side of the room upbove the cabinet, so I put fabric on it too.
Here is a bench that I painted this weekend also for the laundry room/mudroom:
Here is a cabinet that we bought for the office. I'm going to write cute little labels for the drawers, like etc., misc... I also want to get a different lamp for it, but in the mean time I stole this one from another room, hehe:
And finally here is a cork board we made for the office. It is 26x41. We fabric covered the mat board and then added a nailhead trim and drew fleur de lis on the corkboard.
LOVE the Eiffel (sp?) tower grouping on the cabinet! very well done. I always plan to do that sort of thing and like when others do, but i never get around to putting stuff where it shoudl go...
how do you know how much fabric to get to cover the shelves? i was thinking of wallpapering the back of my closets so when i open them up i'm even happier to see my clothes...
