You girls have been to some really cool places.  How do you choose where to go, what to see, and who to go with?  I would love to go to some of these really cool places, but the only thing holding me back is that I want to make sure I go with the right group of people that are just as psyched as me.  Most of my friends aren't as passionate about seeing the world.  Do you ever go with tour groups?

Its weird, sometimes I'm a total planner, sometimes I'll just see a special advertised and book it. So I really can't help you out on how I plan things.


I usually travel with my family. My mom loves to travel and has taken up places since birth so its very natural for us to travel togeather. My bf is getting more into travelling since being with me, he realizes its easier to join in than try to get me to stop (impossible!) I don't really have any friends that like to travel, its very very difficult to find good travelling companions. Travelling can be very hard on a friendship so I would rather go alone or go with an aquantance with the understanding that you don't spend every waking minute togeather. Personally, I didn't enjoy being on a tour group. But possibly it just wasn't the right mix of people on mine. (I went on a Trafalgar Tour to Italy 3years ago) I found the people were either really stuck up and snotty or were total party animals just there to get completely trashed all the time. I just didn't really connect with anyone on the trip.


I would love to have a travel-friend, though. None of my friends are into travelling or they talk about it but are never willing to actually go. Its sad. Anyone want a travel buddy?

Wherever I am going, I almost always check out www.virtualtourist.com first to see what people say about the place.  It has lots of good advice from both locals and visitors.
