Anyone Watch Laguna Beach Last Night?

Sooo, season 2 of Laguna Beach premiered last night - am I the only nerd who watched it??  I'm so happy it's back on, it's a total guilty pleasure of mine...hoping someone else watched it and wants to talk about it....I hate Kristin by the way!!

I watched part of it, but didn't make it through the whole thing.  I can't decide if I love it or hate it. It's as if their lives happened, then MTV went back and wrote a script for it and they are re-enacting it. Drives me nuts!

I don't think I'm following you...do you mean that it really seems like they are acting vs. it being their real life?

They all seem a little awkward going into the new season. They kind of all seem like they are not sure what to talk about so the scenes are so short.
EX: Like whey Kristen and her friends ran into what's her name, Morgan? (who got even chunkier by the way) at that store and it all seemed REALLY fake!
or when Lo came to see LC for the first time seemed kind of weird too like they didn't have anything to say to eachother.
I thought the whole thing with Steven and Kristen seeing eachother again was funny the way he was kind of mean to her, cause I really can't stand her and want him to be with LC!! But then he keeps calling Kristen all the time, wuss!! Stay strong Stephen and get over Kristen!!!

It's like the most annoying show on the face of the earth and yet I am drawn to it like a moth to a flame!!! Talking about it makes me sound as annoying as they all are, but I can't help it!!

P.S. I turned it off before Stephen and LC went out. What happened with them?? Anything juicy? I have to catch a replay!!

Luv2Shop - nothing really happened w/Stephen and LC - they went out to dinner, and Kristin called while they were out, Stephen didn't answer though.  Then they went back to LC's and got in the hot tub together..it seemed like something would happen, but of course not...


I thought the scenes w/Stephen and Kristin and Jessica and Dieter were akward, but I think because they broke up...I'm sure after seeing themselves on TV last season, they are probably all acting to some degree now.

I watched!!  I'm addicted, its pretty bad.  It's one of my favorite shows.  I thought Kristen was being bitchier than usual last night (like at the party and the way she kept saying she was over stephen), but I love her!  She's my absolute favorite "character".  I hate LC- she's ok as a person but I hate the way she keeps trying to get stephen to like her!  She's a pretty girl and it just makes her look desperate.  I feel like the whole show is centered on making her seem desperate.  There just isn't that natural chemistry between her and stephen.  Whether you hate kristen or not, they just seem more "real" as a couple- they laugh more, talk more, joke around more, fight more- with LC everything seems forced and like he goes to her when he can't have Kristen.  I'm glad Trey was back for a little, and Jason is really cute, though not very bright or nice it seems.  He looks like Nick Lachey.  It's going to be weird having a new cast.

I never really figured out if this show was fake or real. I even thought the first season seem kind of rehearsed. It's just so hard to tell. I didn't watch it last night because I forgot it was premiering on Mondays. It used to be Tuesdays! Thanks to MTV and their incessant replays, I'm sure I'll catch it later tonite.

Yeah, I mean that their lives happened and then the writers went back and wrote a script about what happened and then they acted it out after it already happened based on the MTV script.  And they are terrible actors!!  It's definitely a scripted show of some kind, imo.

Kristin is someone in I would not like in real life but i like her on the show. I love LC and Lo and I wish LO was back. Actually i like everyone in last season better, they seemed more real, and didn't talk all fake. I agree with the whole Lc and Stephen thing, if it didn't happen by now it is not going to happen. Plus, he is still calling kristin. Whatever, but of course I am still hooked. Oh and the new girl, I can't stand.

OMG-IT'S SO FAKE! "So, like, everyone is coming to my party tomorrow!" Fake. The cameras are there when they wake up and there are like 8 different camera views and they are placed like they're posing. Fake. Like when Stephen and Kristen were standing on that rock for like 10 minutes and the music was playing. Fake. I still love it though

Oh, I like Kristin too.  She just has more spunk than LC.  I agree, LC just looks desperate, she needs to move on.  Lo was my favorite last season.  I also liked Trey.  It seems like there are fewer "redeeming" characters this season.  Like there is no one so far that you can't help but like--I feel like that was Trey last season.


PS--Shopchicago33, I'm glad I can count on you to watch all the juicy reality shows--I can't wait for INXS tonight!!!

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is addicted to this show!

Here's the scoop on the creation of the show: it's supposed to look like a fake tv show, like the OC or something. But it's a realtiy show. They just film it differently so it looks "fake." Make sense? It's a new take (new as in when it first aired) on the reality show.

Did anyone else see LC pull Stephen into her house after the hot tub? I totally think they hooked up once they were inside. I love LC. Sometimes she looks kind of desperate but doesn't everyone who loves someone who doesn't love them back?

Kristen was a total bitch last night. More so than normal, imo. And did anyone else notice her saying she cheated on her boyfriend? Did she mean Stephen? Ouch.

And I rewatched the end of last season and I remember how much I loved that last episode. Do you think LC knew Stephen was going to meet her at the airport or was it a surprise? I thought she must have known but she looked so happy and surprised that then I thought it was a surprise. Also, Stephen looked so cute in his pseudo-punk outfit when he picked up LC at the airport. He should dress like that all the time!

blubirde - I agree w/everything you posted!  I totally noticed LC pull Stephen into her house after the hot tub, I even said to the BF "I bet they are going to get it on!"  And I totally agree - I love LC, and don't think she's desperate at all..she's just in love w/a guy who's in love w/someone else.  I know I've been there.  Kristin was being so mean last night, especially to Stephen.  It was so obvious at Lo's xmas party that she was trying to make him jealous...ugh - she irritates me.  And if you'll remember back to last season - Kristin did cheat on Stephen.  Remember that guy Sam?  She cheated w/him and who knows who else.  Oh, and I was wondering the same thing about Stephen picking LC up at the airport last season..but I kinda think she had to have known...


So when you say that it's a reality show meant to look like a fake TV show, does that mean it is real and they aren't scripted?

Agreed! Her hair (or weave) was horrible but they didn't show enough of her for me to dislike her yet.  She seems ok so far. 


I dont think that there is an actual script but I do believe that they are told what to talk about.  Its so obvious imo.  I dont think its gonna be as real as the first season because now they've gotten to see themselves on tv and they probably can't help but to act just a little. I probably would
