are those philosophy body washes worth it? it seems like most of you guys like the really rich smells? and also, do any of you find the smell a little overpowering and does it last for a bit after you take your shower? are there any smells that are not vanilla, chocolate, sugary sweet smell based? although i like to eat these type of things, not sure how i feel about bathing in it. haha. i tend to like cleaner smells, fruity, flowery. sorry for asking so many questions!
I think they're worth every penny. No other body wash is nearly as satisfying and realistic smelling as these. There are defintely less sugary-foody scents.
This is my fave...it's more sprakly orange/pineapple than sweet and sugary
ooooo thanks lilykind!!! that does help a lot. all of those look really good to me, esp the mimosa and margarita one...shopping ban is not going that well, but then again, i tend to kind of be cheap when it comes to shampoo and body washes, so i thought i would treat myself to one of these body washes when i have time either this week or next. THAnks!
They are a bit expensive, but I'll still buy them. The scents are not strong and the smell doesn't stick with you. I have the mimosa right now and love it. My all time favorite is cinnamon buns.
I think they're worth it. One of them lasts me about 7 months, but that's only because I use it as a body wash and not as shampoo and conditioner too. (You are talking about the 3-in-1's, right?). They're also super moisturizing, even in the dead of winter, in my 80 degree apt (I keep it that way).
They are strong, but not overpowering at all, at least IMO, and I'm not sure if the scent even lasts on my skin after I'm done showering. I do wish they'd come up with coordinating body sprays or something, for use after showering to make the scents stay on longer!
If you really don't want to smell like oh, cinnamon buns, when you're done, , you could always try the drink scents (margarita, melon daiquiri, etc.), or they do have other ones like apple. I know a few people on here also like the Amazing Grace one (not sure of the exact scent though).
yes, i am talking about the 3 in one's. the reason y i was asking abt it was because i saw it on the hsn, they were doing a 3 for 32 dollar deal or something. does anyone know about the amazing grace smell? and is that a 3 in 1 and does it come in the same 16 oz bottle? thanks!
Okay, just looked at sephora.com and the Amazing Grace stuff does come in the same 16oz bottle, but it's also slightly more expensive than the regular 3-in-1's ($22). It looks like there's one in the series that is a bath/shampoo/shower gel combo.
It's based off of Philosophy's Grace fragrance, which is described as "soft, floral blossoms accented by a hint of light musk.". I would assume the body wash has the same scent.
margarita and mimosa are my faves as well! i wouldn't say that they last past the shower. by the time i get around to getting dressed and use my perfume- the scent is def. gone.

Amazing grace is my favorite. If you have smelled the "Clean" scents, it smells very similar to "clean ultimate".

Philosophy is on qvc. The 3 for $32 dollars is actually an auto delivery plan. You get three different scents every other month for a year. You can cancel any time so you don't have to get all of them. It actually turns out to be closer to $40 dollars for the three after shipping and tax.
The Amazing Grace is different (my scent). It is more of a perfumed body wash (also shampoo). The fragrance for this tends to stay with you.
I love the Philosophy body washes! The proceeds from the one that has the pink ribbon on it (I think its Amazing Grace) goes to Breast Cancer research too! I think they sell it on QVC during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (is that October?...not sure). Anyway, they sell it at Sephora and it smells great and goes to a great cause. They also sell little sample packs like this:
and this:
$30 at Sephora
Kinda expensive, but they last a long time and their scents are the BEST! Also, they're specifically designed so that you don't smell like cinnamon buns the entire day. HTH!
Right now I'm diggin' Orange Sherbet and Raspberry Sorbet.I think when My ban is over I will grab the ones that LILYKIND posted. I don;t find them overpowering (makes me hungry in shower sometimes).I've never been able to smell it on me after the shower.I don't think they were made to smell afterwards.
We'll see what August brings, I'm on autoship with QVC so I get 2 3 in 1's every 2 months.
The shower for the cure pink ribbon shower gel proceeds go to breast cancer research and it smells really good! It's $20 but they give 100% of the proceeds to breast cancer research.
These gels are the best....even my husband is obsessed. We just bought the apple one that Lilykind posted and it smells sooo good. I also like the Falling in Love gel. We actually were on the auto delivery plan from QVC so I have a bunch of them. I think you might also enjoy a new one called Tea....yummy. Pure Grace is another good one for "clean scents"
I really hate to ask this question, but if the scent doesn't stay with you what's the point? Is it just in place of other regular body wash or soap? I'm not a person that spends a lot on "spa" type products at home, so I guess I'm confused. Are they super moisturizing? Any other benefit other than smelling really good while you are getting clean?
I hope this comes out the right way - I'm not trying to be ugly, I'm just trying to understand. I think that's a lot to pay for body wash & I think I'd like to smell like a mimosa all day long

I got two free samples and I do love how they smell in the shower but hate that I cant smell it on my body afterwards. I'm one of the few here that wont buy them..........
Laken1: I do find them be super moisturizing. I've never had another body wash that allowed me to skip lotion after a shower if I wanted. Other body washes I've tried I HAD to use lotion after if I didn't want to be dry and itchy after a shower; this one I don't (unless I want to)...
Also like a couple of other people have said, if I'm only using it as a body wash and not shampoo/conditioner also, mine will last up to 7 months.

I wish the scents lingered too. I don't have that many (I own eggnog and cinnamon buns (both gifts), thinking about the pool party set and margarita scrub) but I like them because they smell so good and I smell the body sponge for a few minutes while in the shower haha. Its expensive, but they DO last, I've had cinnamon buns for over a year, and eggnog since this christmas, both only half empty, because I don't use them all the time. It's kind of a silly splurge, but the bottles are cute and the colors are cute and oh they smell sooo good.
what do you think about amazing grace v. falling in love? differences? preferences? i was just browsing thru their website..thanks!you guys are great..so much great info!
