Any graphic designers out there familiar with this program? I got a 60 day free trial of Paint Shop Pro Studio with my computer and I'm currently using it and I think I like it. Paint Shop Pro seems like something I would like (and it's less expensive than PhotoShop and Illustrator). Anyone have any thoughts on this program? How does it compare to PhotoShop and Illustrator (I know they are really in a class by themselves, but I can't afford $800 for software right now).
i have it (got it after the trial was up) and i like it. unfortunately i don't really know how it compares to photoshop and illustrator b/c i've never used them. but in general i've psp to be very user friendly.

Thanks, honey! I'm sold on it now (you use it for your features, right?). The program that I've been using is crap, crap, crap. And it's not capatible with my new computer, so I need to upgrade. Thanks for your opinion.
i think it really depends what you plan on using it for. i love photoshop and illustrator for different things. (i am a design geek, and i also have pagemaker because i can't afford quark!)
i haven't used psp in a long time, but i remember it being nice for basic photo editing/design.
also if you have friends that are students, you can usually get the educational version of photoshop for under 200.

I was looking at student discounts on some of those programs (since I'll be a student again in either the fall or spring) and I could get Adobe Creative Suite 2 (which has full versions of PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive and Acrobat 7) for around $350!!! That's such a steal. It normally costs $1200!! I will definitely be taking advantage of that offer. I'll probably get Quark while I'm at it b/c that was only $200 or something like that. And if I'm really feeling crazy, I might get Flash or Dreamweaver as well. Is it sick that I'd rather buy new graphic design programs than a new car??? I'm a design geek, too, erin.
But I need something to use until then and it seemed like PSP was the 'poorman's version' (if you will) of PhotoShop, Illustrator and Quark combined, so it could work for my purposes until I'm in school. It looked like you could also do computer illustration on it, which I will be needing to design my website for my business. Anyway, thanks for your help!
