need to vent- future SIL issues!

heres the story....

my BoyFriend is turning 30 in August.  I am having a small (30 people) party for him at a local swanky restaraunt where I am taking care of all the dinners for everyone in attendance.  The party is August 13th.  I specifically told his sister-in-law about the party over 2 months ago b/c she likes to schedule things on days that are important to the family b/c she doesn't like any of us.

so, we were at a BIG party over July 4th and most of the people in attendance were those that are coming to the party for my BF.  So i was telling them about it and giving them a heads up that invites would be in the mail end of this week.  My future S-I-L's lackey best friend says to me "oh, too bad, we are not going to be able to make it.  we are camping that weekend with your future SIL and her husband (my boyfriend's brother)."  I said, no, that can't be right i told her about it 2 months ago.  Friend says "oh, maybe I'm wrong, we just planned it a month ago.  so if she knew 2 months ago- then it must be okay."

GUESS WHAT?  THE SL*T future SIL completely planned over my BF (her BIL) 30th birthday!  and what ticks me off more- is that she roped 6 other people (who were supposed to be guests to the party) into going with her.  grrrr. i am so ticked off at her.  she KNEW i was having the party and it wasn't a lame-o "please bring a dinner item with you for a potluck even though this is an important event party" like she likes to plan...

*sigh* thanks for letting me get that off my chest.  BF says he doesn't care- but i want this to be a nice party with all the people who care about him to be there.  that means his brother and not his SIL because i can't stand her....   AT ALL!

yup!  she is... and i tried to be nice to her for the longest time too... i've just stopped trying.

wanna hear another great story about her and her parenting skills?  i feel like venting about everything she's pissed me off about in the past few weeks...

here goes!

C (our niece) was having her 6th birthday party.  C had a mountain of presents.  When C got to her Grandma's present (my BF's mother) she opened it.  Saw that it was Dora the Explorer clothes and said to Grandma (in front of 15-20 family and friends) "Grandma- don't you know that Dora is for babies?"  and THREW THE PRESENT BACK DOWN ON THE GROUND!!!!!!!!!!

Future SIL looked at Grandma and said "yeah, she's right.  it's more for 3 year olds."

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  BF AND I WERE both holding each other back.... we wanted to STRANGLE BOTH C AND FUTURE SIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i told BF's mom that i was sorry about what happened (i felt just awful over it) and she said "yeah well, i don't think Future SIL likes me very much."

she sounds CRAZY.  i am not sure if i have my family dynamics straight--this crazy woman is engaged to your b-f's brother? if so, what are his (and your b-f's) feelings on her odd behavior? i'd be really upset if i were their mother--who teaches their child to disrespect their grandmother like that? awful!

Wow!  That's horrible!  It's probably a good thing she is not coming to the party.  When I was a child, if I did anything but act completely excited about each gift I received, my mother would have probably ended the party or kept the party going, but sent me to my room.  I can't believe she not only allowed this behavior, but backed her up.

Your future SIL sounds like a major bitch. And the sad thing is it looks like she's raising her daughter to be exactly the same way. What about your bf's brother? Is he aware of the way she treats his family?

he is so wrapped up in work that i don't think he has the energy to deal with it.  so he just turns his head from it.  which is sad.  at least it shows BF and I how NOT to be with our children.  *sigh* and i always thought i would have a really cool SIL that would go shopping with me and we would be girlfriends... why is it that the real world NEVER works out like the movies!

It's sad that he lets his wife treat his mother that way. That is just wrong. I'm so sorry you have to deal with her. She sounds so very horrible. If it were me, I could never be nice to her.
