Ok, I know everyone is hating on Tom Cruise for being such a media jack ass lately, but GO SEE WAR OF THE WORLDS!!!!! Seriously, I saw it last night and it was sooo good. Such an intense movie - my stomach was in knots watching it (but in a good way). I wasn't it expecting it to be so good. I'd definitely recommend it.
Me and my hubby went to see it last night and it was much better than I expected. My hubby now has a permanent imprint of my hand in his cause I was gripping it thru the whole movie, but I'm a lightweight when it comes to scary/gory movies
I really liked how it showed the main character's human side, with the shock and remorse instead of just having him save the day like a super-human without that raw emotion, make sense? I tried explaining that without giving away any of the plot

That's hilarious, I think my bf has the same imprint of my hand on his arm from me gripping so tight!
I totally agree w/you about it showing the human side and the emotions he was going through.
OMG-this movie is soooooooooo SCARY!!!!!! I hate Tom too and I'm kinda mad I paid $ to see him but this movie is awesome. What's most creepy is seeing how people react to the aliens. It's every man for himself and that's a scary thought. It's very realistic and I can imagine the world reacting that exact way if this ever happened.
It was soooo good, wasn't it? My guy friend wanted to go see it and I was very reluctant (even said no at first) because of all the Tom Cruise media crap. And for the first 10 minutes of so, I felt the same way. But man! After that first 10 minutes, I was hooked. The movie was damn scary - like horror movie scary. I was super impressed and freaked out, all at the same time. And I've said it once this weekend but I'll say it again... TC may be all freaky-deaky in real life but he's a gooood actor and I'll watch movies he's in again, just because of this one.
His acting skills trumped his public personna this one time. We'll see how long it lasts!
ok, am i the only one who was disappointed by the ending? i saw it friday & was all knots in the stomach & then it was like the ending was way too easy & not rewarding at all! i dunno, i felt let down, but the rest of the movie was good. oh & TC is an amazing actor cuz he made me forget his psychoness for 2 hrs!!
i saw this too, and i was sort of disappointed by the ending. also, there were a lot of loopholes, like unexplained things, i wish they would have discussed some of those issues. i don't like it when movies don't explain things fully. other than that i thought it was ok, definitely some tense moments. oh, and i thought it was orsen wells, not HG? not sure though.

oh the ending totally pissed me off!!
and then just the complete randomness that just didn't belong and was never explained. ugh.
