STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

This was finished a few months ago...still lots to be done, but it's a thousand times better than before.  I've included before, during, and after pictures.  I still need to do a backsplash and touch-up painting:

  You can't see it here, obviously, but the counters were to different colors, and the "backsplash" was two different heights.  And above the sink was a whole with electrical wire sticking out.  Oh, and the paint on the red cabinets was very chipped and mangled, and had a very oily feel to it.

DURING:
  Everything ripped out - you can see the random electrical wires.

  Coming together!  I added a whole extra row of cabinets extending into the dining area, and put in wood butcher block countertops

AFTER:

  All done!  So much prettier

  The other side - I added under cabinet lighting, and lighting in the glass-front cabinets

I wish I had a view of the whole dining area before and after, because with the additional cabinets it really opened up the room, and made the whole area feel bigger.
