I am a fence sitter when it comes to gay marriage but I knew someone would eventually legalize it.  I believe that in a few more years(post Bush Administration) it will probably be legalized here too.  Whether that would be a good or bad thing is another question.

as far as this issue goes, I just keep coming back to the same point. When you look at the list of social changes that have been proposed and eventually effected in the past 300 years, to the shock, horror, dismay and gloomy predictions of each era's pundits, you realize that all the people screaming out in horror at the thought of gay marriage are just today's version of everyone who thought that slavery should not be outlawed, that blacks should be segregated, that women should not vote or own property or have any legal status of their own, that people of different races should not marry, etc etc etc ad nauseam. Each of these beliefs has, thankfully, been brought down in time, and I feel pretty sure this one will too. It may take a while yet but I think it will happen. And eventually, Ralph Dobson and Rick Santorum will look  as abhorrent, and as comically, egregiously incorrect, as everyone who ever screamed that letting women have jobs, education, rights, would be the downfall of our civilization.
