I am feeling like my face is kind of "bleh" looking right now. It's clear and everything and im getting color in the sun (since i work outside) but i just dont think it looks very healthy or glowy. What can i do to make it look a little more...um...better looking? lol i dont even know how to describe it. It's just missing SOMETHING. I exfoiliate once a week too. Oh, and i have dry skin and i moisturize everyday but im just looking for a little something extra that will make my skin look fabulous. Any suggestions?
I recently bought this new bronzer that i just LOVE! It's called Baked, and it's by Urban Decay. I've tried many bronzers, from clinique to nars, but i like this one the best. It looks really bright in the compact, but when you brush it over your face-- you get hte perfect color and a great glow! And it takes like two seconds to put it on, so it's an easy thing to do in the morning.
You can go to sephora, and they'll probably let you try it out.
I have skin that is very, ahem, hard to maintain. It doesn't look bad per se, but it breaks out semi-frequently and is often very pinkish. I find it looks best when:
*I drink lots and lots of water
*I take all of my multi-vitamins (fish oil, B complex, zinc, and multi-vitamin)
*I eat an apple a day (weird, I know, but this really makes my nails look nice too)
*I eat healthy foods
*I exercise regularly
*I sleep well
*I moisturize and use sunscreen plus some self-tanner every few days at night
*I use my glycolic toner (I use DDF 10% from Sephora)
*I use a creamy blush for a flushed look (I like revlon cream blush in sheer blush? I think that's what it is called. It is very red in the case)
Mabye try some type of exfoliating scrub...it might be that you have a lot of dead skin cells on your face or something. I got a sample of Fresh Honey Facial Scrub and I really like it. Now I'm trying to rationalize $50 for a scrub now.
I totally second Lynnie's suggestion of the glycolic toner. I've really noticed a difference since starting to use the DDF 10%. Right now I'm using PTR's 10% gel (which I don't like as much, but is still effective) because DDF is repackaging their toner and until then it's not in stores...
Also, what moisturizer are you using? Some tend to give more of a dewy appearance than others, so a switch might be in order.
what exactly does glycolic toner do? i bought the mario badescu glycolic toner b/c the sa recommended it over the sample i had been sent, and i think it makes me feel a little greasy after i use it, unlike the other toner... anyone else have this problem?
