applying to winery!!
Permalink Closed

So I've been on the job hunt since I graduated in May with no luck. Now there are openings at a new winery by me part time!! ( I don't mind part time since I think I've decided I'm going to help my bf's aunt do medical transcription work from home...) but my question is I have no knowledge of wine, I just drink it occasionally. What do you think I should include in a cover letter/resume?? previous jobs include: bath and body works, the body shop at home consultant, supervisor at an ice cream shop and secretary. here's the ad:

WINERY PERSONNEL New winery, opening soon, is seeking part time employees with a zest for life to assist customers with wine selections, pour wine samples at the tasting counter, create gift baskets, and assist with bottling wines. If you enjoy wine and like talking to people who also enjoy wine, this job is for you! Applicants should be neat, energetic, organized, creative, and personable with customers

Maybe dwell on your being friendly, creative and a fast learner. That way you address customer service (w/ friendly) and the gift basket making (creativity) and if you learn fast, surely you can help someone select wine, once the company has given you some info. If you get an interview, maybe pick up a wine enthusiast magazine or a wine tasting for dummies book (I don't know if they make one, but I bet they do)

good luck!

I worked at Bath and Body works too. I would definatly include that you have experience with aroma's and gift wrapping, customer service, and working at a food service counter. Those will be a plus.
