Well, I did my bachelor's at UCSD, but I never took an online class there. It is an extremely good school (I don't know what course you're looking at though), but I don't know if I would generally recommend the UC extension classes. I took an extension class through UC Berkeley and I was underwhelmed, especially for how expensive it was. I've taken a couple of online courses through different community colleges, and I would say that the quality of those classes was probably just as good as the quality of the UC Berkeley Extension class I took. And they were like a third or a fourth of the price. Of course you're looking at a certification, and a certification from UCSD is going to look a lot better than a certification from a community college I guess.

Just my two cents! Good luck! I don't think you can neccessarily go wrong with a course from UCSD, but I don't know if the caliber of any online course out there really justifies the cost yet, and I think the community colleges are doing just as well with their online classes as the bigger universities.
