With Thanksgiving approaching, it's got me thinking about being thankful. I hate how we only focus on this once a year...it should be a a mandatory monthly excercise! SO what are you most thankful for this year?
I am going to say for my family; I recently moved far away from them and it has made me realize more than ever how thankful I am for them. Being so close to them all of the time just made me frustrated, but now I am able to enjoy their company when I see them and step back and realize how thankful I am for their support. I'm also thankful for my job; I love what I do and it's so rare to find....
I'm thankful for my parents' health. My parents are in their 70s and (knock wood) in pretty good health. A lot of my friends have lost parents in the last few years and others have had their parents in and out of the hospital. My father hasn't been in the hospital for anything in three years and even then it was very minor. My mom had a minor occurrence of skin cancer about 5 years ago, but it was caught early. I was actually mentioning just how lucky we were to my brother the other day.
I have to say - my marriage and my family. By my family I mean my husband and children. Not to say I don't adore my siblings (most of the time) and my mom. But knowing that Hubs and I are solid and with our kids we can get through anything. Heartbreak, anger, confusion, anything you throw at us. We got it. I honestly couldn't ask for, or appreciate more.

My health, the small luxuries my lifestyle allows, having an active mind that's constantly engaged in new ideas, a lack of drama in my life, my sweet kitteh and a fairly patient husband and family.
I'm so grateful for BF - he is my best friend and our relationship is strong. I'm grateful for my health - my body's not perfect but I can lead a pretty normal, pain-free life which I know is something a lot of people can't say. I have a job and I not only have enough money to get good food, healthcare, shelter, etc. but I have "play money" too. I'm grateful for my parents and their happy marriage. When so many marriages break and fail, they are a great model of how to grow with each other and only love each other more as the years pass.
