Why is it they are never what you expect when you see them. This guy was great online but I met him last night and not what was expected. Now I'm not sure what to do if he asks me out again. I know that I am not attracted to him in a dating sense. Good guy but not what I am looking for.
aw, that sux... i'm kinda in the same situation in that a guy on myspace wrote to me but i'm just not attracted to him & i've tried the whole "maybe he'll grow on me" thing before & it doesn't work. if the guy asks u out again i would just say that u think the two of u would make better friends (or just blow him off if u have no interest in being friends). as for me i think i'm gonna bury my head in the sand & hope the guy goes away!
ugh. gross. i've had this encounter with guys online before. (and perhaps they've had it with me.) there was one guy who was very shady with the pictures but we got along so well that i figured he had to be somewhat attractive, right? bad reasoning on my part. he asked me out again and i wrote back like a 2 sentence email. i wasn't rude but i think he got the point.
the other guy was all "i'm not going to let you get away." on the phone, online, etc. first off, that turned me off right away. he seemed super nice and pretty cool but let me get away? give me a break. but in his pics he was h-o-t! in person, not so much. he dressed like a slob and announced he was dressed up (not even) and he, for some odd reason, didn't look like his pics at all. it was bizarre. i mean, he was obviously the same guy but they were the most flattering pics he could have ever taken. it was weird. he and i are still friends though and go out every now and then. it's completely friendly though - no sparks at all.
blind dates are like that - actually all first dates are the same, imo, blind or no. you still wonder if you remember what the person looks like, if they remember what you look like, if you'll like them, if they'll like you, etc. it's a tricky game we play.
Ah! Bluebird, that's no good. Mine was pretty easy. He asked me out again and I just said thank you but i'll have to pass. All he said was I understand and that was the end of it. On to the next!

That is the funniest blow off I have ever heard in my life. Not rude, short, sweet, and direct. Hysterical.

I agree. "I'll have to pass." I have to remember that one!!!
You girls are all great..."I'll have to pass..." I'm definitely going to remember that. Although after just one date (if I don't want to be friends) I usually just don't answer the phone. Is that cruel?
