What do you drink when you're going out to clubs, bars, etc.?  I'm going out this weekend and I'm in the mood for a new drink.

I'm pretty standard and just usually get Long Islands.  If I thought anyone here made them good, I'd get Sex On the Beach drinks.


At one of the bars, I usually get a (ready for this?) Pissed Off Japanese Minnow Farmer.  Short title is Minnow Farmer .  I have no idea what's actually in it, but it's nice and fruity and red.  It's really good!

depends on what I'm in the mood for and what kind of place I'm at, but my standards are usually gin and tonic (with lime), vodka martini, or miller light.

If I'm at my local, neighborhood bar, I'll just throw back Miller Light. If I'm at the nearby Irish Pub, I get Harp or Bass and sometimes Guinness.  If I'm at restaurant or some frou-frou lounge/club, I'll drink a Sour Apple Martini, a Margarita or a Mojito.  My all-time favorite drink is a Mojito.  It's making my mouth water just typing about it.

depends on the situation...


for once or two drinks: bombay sapphire martini up dry with olives (the bartenders always look impressed when i order it, and it tastes good)


for a night of drinking: citron and sprite, sapphire and tonic, or stoli vanilla and diet coke


for a day of drinking: miller light or blue moon if it's available


weekday drink: red wine.


and for a night with the girls: apple martini, sangria, margarita, or whatever girly drink i want to order without getting looks of embarassment from my bf.

in a bar: rum+coke, seabreeze, or a pint of local microbrew


in a restaurant: wine or a margarita


at home: wine, red=winter white=summer, and occasionally beer (Bass is my favorite)

my standard drink is ketel one & soda if it's not crazy at the club i'll ask the bartender to add rose's lime water. it's relatively low calorie and refreshing (well to me, it can be strong). 


if i'm in a celebratory mood i'll get a cocktail, i really like stuff with lychee in it, and i also really like shochu. it's this japanese alcohol that's similar to vodka. i'm not sure if it's a nyc thing, but you can get it with fruit infusions --- they let the sho chu soak in fruits for awhile, and it's soooo good.

mmmm i love love love me some martinis...  i even own a tee that says "Martini Please" on it!


right now i am loving the "French Martini" (also called by other names)


but it has Vodka, Chambord and pineapple in it.


I also like "Flirtinis" but i can't remember what is in them.  i know there is a splash of champagne in them and they are light pink...


at home, i make Cosmopolitans.... now you make me want to go mix one up!
