Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that I went into labor 3 1/2 weeks early, on May 12th, and had my little girl about 12 hours later at 11:26 pm. I was at work and all of the sudden my water broke and two of my colleagues had to take me to my doctor to get checked, then my husband took me to the hospital and I went into labor shortly thereafter. She weighed 5 lbs and 4 oz (a preemie). Her name is "Lucy," middle name "Colette." I'll try to post some pictures later. Just wanted to share!
I'm really happy, she is the most precious little thing!
Hey JMR!! Thanks for the compliment on Lucy. I am glad you got the email. I am feeling pretty good now, although my butt hurts a lot b/c I either bruised or broke my tailbone while pushing! So I am kind of lazing around the house lately waiting to feel back to my normal self again. I feel MUCH better than I did during those last few weeks that I was pregnant though. My swelling has totally gone down and I lost 20 lbs after the delivery. It's so much easier to move around without all that extra weight!
Any chance you would want to post the pics for me, if you still have them??
How are you doing these days? When is your due date again? Have you started setting up your nursery?
oh, alb! I am so happy for you and your husband. What wonderful news - I had a sneaking suspicion that's where you were. "beep" and I were just talking about you the other day and wondering about your status.
So CONGRATULATIONS!!! I can't wait to see photos.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes (and thanks to jmr for posting the pics)! Yes she is long--she measured 19 inches at birth. She also has big feet, so maybe she'll be tall. Her long legs are one of the first things people notice about her!
ETA--Karina--I did get to take her home right away. We had to wait in the L&D room for a long time after I delivered so that they could determine if she needed to go to the NICU, but they said she was fine to go in the post partum room with me. They kicked us out 48 hrs later, and we were both d/c'ed home. then we had a slight jaundice scare, she was looking pretty yellow for awhile there but then it tapered off and she was fine. She's doing great now. I am feeling okay, a little sore but happy to have my baby here. Just trying to get used to being a new mom--I wasn't ready for her at all when I delivered.
When are you due again and how are you doing? How's the baby?

The jaundice is very normal after birth, my son had it too, but just like Lucy, it tapered off. Are you breastfeeding? Make SURE to have your husband get you a donut pillow and some dermoplast ASAP. it is a pain relieving antiseptic spray that you spray on your vaginal/episiotomy area, and it helps with the swelling and pain. that was a GODSEND for me after I had Christian.
I am due in 8 weeks, and I'm hanging in there. The doctor put me on permanent bedrest due to preterm labor a few weeks ago, so here I am waiting!
How are you adjusting to the lack of sleep? :)
P.S. - That picture of her and your husband is precious! She is so adorable!
