I am going to be moving to another city in about a month and moving away from my family. I am very close with my mother especially and I really want to get her something that she can keep and treasure. I would love to get her a piece of jewelry (she isn't flashy, she would prefer something meaningful) but I am having a really hard time finding something special enough. She loves animals or anything that looks handmade (although I have no jewelry making skill whatsoever.) This is a real challenge and would appreciate all of the help and recommendations that I can get.

What about a locket with a picture of you in it? Maybe a baby picture if you don't want to use a current one.

How about something personalized? Something like this..

with your birthstone color and a little phrase or something sweet engraved.

I would definitely poke around on Etsy and see what you can find, there's some majorly gorgeous stuff on there. I've really been a fan of the jewelry especially.

Have you guys taken any trips together? What's your favorite story/memory about the two of you? Perhaps if you starting thinking of specific memories that will spark the creative juices.
