Need help picking lamps for nightstands - UPDATED w/ bedroom pics!
Permalink Closed

I used to only have one nightstand, but now I got another one and so I need two lamps to go on them (the lamp I have on the one nightstand right now has been discontinued and would be hard to match).

This is the nightstand:

I was thinking about either of these lamps.

Do they look right with the nighstands? Or should I go in another direction? Any suggestions welcome!

I love both lamps and have admired the style for a while! What does the rest of your bedroom look like?

I think either of those lamps would work. I own lamps almost identical to the 1st one except the finial on mine is different. For me they have been very versatile too, I have used them in my living room and they are currently in my bedroom now.

Thanks Cat! They seem very versatile.

Xtina - I guess my bedroom could be described as romantic. It's kind of girly. I've attached some pictures of it to give you a better sense.

I like both lamps. But I like the 1st one better.

I love the room. Proof again that my apt looks like a college dorm.

Thanks carmenb!

Thanks Kel! I think I like the first one better too. I know I've seen that same style lamp at Target too. I'm going to check them out next time I'm there b/c they'd be a lot cheaper.

Hi!
I think it's a beautiful lamps choice. But for drama, I think you need a tall lamp, much taller then what you have on the dresser on the pic ( with glass pole as well), when you'll put them on the night stands, they should be taller ( a bit) then the headboard).
Also, to my eye - it's an awkward position for the pictures hanged on the wall around TV.

Thanks Boots!

Yana - you're right about the pictures. I actually used to have my desk there where that TV stand is now, and I'm too lazy to take them down and find a better place to hang them in my room. Also, I haven't measured to see if those lamps would be taller than the headboard, but I think they will. I'll make sure and measure before I buy.

I think I like the 1st lamp better, but in addition to looking at Target, I'm going to check out BB&B and see if they have them in-store. I have two of those 20% off coupons lying around, which would make them a lot cheaper than the 1st option.

I personally like BB&B's option - its pole seems more...substantial, so to speak, more grounded, heavier...Besides, if you have a coupon - USE IT! I get those in the mail constantly, but started giving away or throwing away - don't remember the last time we shopped there....

Thanks for all your help, ladies! I went to BB&B and bought one lamp for the empty nightstand. It looks pretty good! It wasn't too badly priced either with the coupon. I'll buy another one when I have another coupon (I used the other one to buy another set of the flatware I recently bought) and some more money.

I know that if you sign up to get emails from BBB, they will email you a coupon for 20% off one item in store. It's an easy way to get another coupon if you still need it.
