Does anyone own a Weber Q grill (that's their small table top gas grill)? I'm thinking of buying one but not sure how they preform in real life. I'm just so tired of dragging out my regular grill (I have to lock it up for safety reasons) when I just want to grill a simple turkey dog for myself.
We have one - it would be perfect for occasional, light-duty use IMO. Easy to start, easy to clean, compact. We're not terribly impressed with the power - you seem to have to crank it up to high to get decent grill marks on anything. Again, that's fine if you mostly grill veggies or hot dogs or an occasional burger, not so great on steaks.
Overall, I think it's a bit expensive for what it is but if the size and portability are your priorities then it's perfect!

Do you remember if you have the 100 series or the 200 series? I'm trying to decide between the 2 and so far the only difference I see is size and folding side tables on the 200 series.
We must have the 200 series, because ours does have the folding side tables. We also have a cart/stand thing that is collapsible and has a handle so it could be towed around, but I think that comes separately. The grilling surface is large enough for maybe 6 burgers at a time or so?

Oh! I remembered something else that might be helpful (I see your purchased it - yay!). If you remove the metal ring that is supposed to hold a long skinny gas tank on, you can use the regular camp-stove propane tanks. We had the worst trouble finding the skinny ones, and they're more expensive too ... HTH!

Nope that's different - it also takes small (1 gallon?) tanks like you would use on a camp stove (provided you remove the metal ring so they fit). What's nice about those is that they're cheap, readily available, and really portable, so if you don't have the cart for the grill you don't have to haul out the grill and tank and hook them all up before you can grill. Our cart has a spot on the bottom shelf for the big tank to sit, but IMO without the cart it would be a pain to have a big tank.

Thanks so much for all the advice. I'll have to see if it's worth it to me or not to hook up the larger tank and jury rig it under the small table I'm setting the grill up on. I'd like the extra gas space, but if the larger tank is just too cumbersome, I may rethink the converter. I'm going to print out this thread so I can refer to it when I'm setting it up this weekend.
Just saw this - I have one and love it. I also have the adapter for the regular sized propane tank. I absolutely love that too. It's not too cumbersome and I only have to fill it once a season. Let me know if you have any questions.
