I have a set of living room furniture with similarly turned legs and supports that are from that era. For my furniture set, I plan to stain the wood black and upholster them in charcoal flannel with bronze nail head studs

I'm in the process now of sanding down the legs and going over them in an ebony stain. It's looking good, and when I wipe the stain off, a little reddish color shows through so they're not perfectly even.
I wish I knew the story behind the chairs and/or from what kind of house they came from. I've never seen anything like them, but they seem like I could decorate many styles around them (Italian/Tuscan, Spanish/rustic). I'm going to leave the upholstery because I kind of like it. One of these days, I guess, when I'm over the bright colors.
