My boss bet me and my co-worker to do a Half-Ironman with him in October. I've done this one before, but last time I did it I trained with a team, and I swore at the end I would never do it again. But he bet us that whoever wins, he'll pay $500 to the winner. Soo...we couldn't pass that up. But now I'm freaking out about the long training sessions on my own, the race itself (it was a horrific 7 hours last time), beating my boss, etc. Anyway, just had to have a little freak-out moment. Thanks for reading!
I know some cities have informal running groups. If you have a local running shoe store, like Fleet Feet, you cold call them and see if they have any info on a group by you (or try googling running groups and your city.) It might make the training more fun to do it with other people.
