frustrated with lizclaiborne.com "sizing chart"

The measurements shown on the site for "knit tops" are baffling, and emailing customer support didn't get me anywhere...

Anybody have a clue what they mean?

I dont understand parts of the size chart for Petites that I see online. For instance:

What does a bust measurement of 16 mean? Does it mean half the bust circumference is 16 inches? Is this explained somewhere?

Thanks,

Ann

PSDitto for waist measurementsdoes waist 12 1/2 mean waist circumference is 25 inches?

It looks like they sized 1 way around not the entire circumference for knit tops for some reason. All the other measurements are circumference except the knits. I took a look and if you double the measurement it seems to jive with normal measurement standards.

So weird though, I feel like this was a result of outsourcing or something...

That was my guess too, but it's weird that they don't fix it -- wonder what's going on there...

Xtina I think you mean "jibe," not "jive." "Jibe," as in "the verdict does not jibe with the medical evidence."

Not "jive," as in to talk nonsense or to sneer at, or "jive," as in the swing music, or "jive," as in urban slang or jazz musician patois.

AND it only took him/her 3 years to figure it out!  He/she must be a big hit at parties.

Hey! Just saw this: yes, it's 1/2 a size, meaning, 16-21" would be from armit to armit to measure the chest, not around the whole body. Which is...silly, chest area is sensitive, front for some can be much larger than the back...anyhow....
