It was AMAZING! Bora Bora Pearl was gorgeous and we were in a beach bungalow. our window opened to the most perfect palm tree on earth:
We were there for 3 nights and the service was wonderful, food excellent and not too many bugs at all. We had an outdoor bathroom, all open air and a VERY private jacuzzi. it was the perfect start. this is one of the overwater bungalows there:
we stayed in an overwater in Moorea(LOVED it).
On Bora Bora we did a 4x4 jeep tour and go some great photo ops, then did a lagoonarium tour which wasn't overly touristy as had been previously reviewed elsewhere. We swam with sharks and fed stingrays and snorkled a lot. We went to bloody mary's on bora boar, yummy, gimmiky, but glad we went. here's us on a canon on our jeep tour:

had the best meal of our lives at Villa Mahana on bora bora. gorgeous, romantic, everything we tasted was perfect and delicious!!!!! what else? we loved bora bora.
HUAHINE was a waste of time, bug infested, horrific service, we didn't get to do or see anything bc the resort service was so terrible, food wasn't even good and we were stuck there for 2 nights. we got to relax, but no one should go there!
MOOREA: Stayed at the Sheraton. PERFECT end to honeymoon. gorgeous bungalow. CLEAN and no bugs and great food (the poisson cru i could live on!) and OK spa expeirence (i'm a spa snob tho so it was probably great). had breakfast delivered by canoe one day. enjoyed every second. did another jeep tour, each island (as you know Detriot) is different. Met great people at each resort we went to. These are the overwater bungalows at the Sheraton moorea (ppl we met said the sheraton had the best snorkeling)
it poured abt 5 min after this shot. my husband in his local attire....and our bungalow:

Trying to think of everyting. We rented a car in moorea bc there was shopping to do. went to grocery store to get cheap stuff....got souvenier(sp?) glasses for less than 1/2 in the grocery stores than in the shops...wearing the pearl earrings he bought me. i LOVE them. i don't have a picture of them tho.
it was REALLY hot but just beautiful and everything was perfect(except huahine!). if i remember any other fun details i'll post again.
thank you for your post! now I want to go back... back to everywhere but Huahine. it's funny you said that because the place we stayed at was kinda nasty and smelled of sewage. there was a storm that went through while we were there and we couldn't get off the island by boat so we, along with every other tourist on the island, went to the airport. we spent the entire day at the airport on standby - all there was to eat was cheetos so we ate cheetos and drank beer all day until we got a flight out in the evening.
but it looks as though the rest of your trip was great! I LOVE the overwater bungalows... yes, and bloody mary's is cheesy, but it's a must see :) did they still have the little fun cars there? so glad you bought some black pearls while you were there too! I love jewelry as a souvenier - it's something you'll wear forever and will always remind you of your honeymoon
