Has anyone ever gotten dressed and completely forgot about what pants you were wearing with your top and how they completely don't go?? Today was the second day I've done this in my immediate memory. I woke up and it was cold outside, so I grabbed my warmest pants (black cords) and put them on. I picked out a burgundy turtleneck to go with it (the Anthro one with pink buttons on the neck- very wintery but it was COLD) and I looked ok. As I was about to run out the door I realized I needed a jacket. I didn't want a winter jacket- so I looked at my other two jackets that are lighter. One is burgundy so I thought no way with that sweater. So I just grabbed the other one which I wear all the time and ran out the door. I didn't think about it until I was wearing my jacket leaving work at 4:00 pm- I was wearing a puffy white corduroy jacket. AHHH, not only was I all corduroy, but I was also black/white, which isn't my favorite combo (I only like it sometimes, but rarely.) I also did this during exams week. I slept in a grey long sleeve shirt and just rolled out of bed and decided to wear it still. I grabbed some grey sweatpants to go over my shorts because those were the pair I always wear. Mid-exam I realized I was all grey!! ahhhh I couldn't concentrate any more- I felt so uncomfortable. Now when people joke if someone looked in the mirror before they left the house when wearing a bad outfit, I wonder if it truly was a mistake!
Sometimes I try on a bunch of potential outfits earlier in the day or night and forget to finish off the outfit before going out.
For example, I may have been wearing a dark colored outfit all day so I will be wearing dark underwear/bra. Then, I will try on a bunch of outfits and decide on a lighter colored outfit that would require beige or white undergarments. I will tell myself I will change them before leaving the house and will walk around my house in the outfit and will inevitably end up running late and forgetting to change before leaving my house.
I also once went out wearing a pointelle sweater alone that ABSOLUTELY needs a cami or another shirt under it. I had thrown it on just to see if that shade of purple looked good with my dark gray pants. I then did a bunch of other things before going out and completely forgot to finish getting dressed before going to this event for my sorority. It was held at one of my sisters' apartments and she is a lot bigger than me so I ended up wearing a HUGE sweatshirt on a night when all these pictures were taken.
Not exactly the same thing, but I'm unhappy w/ my look today.
Red and white patterned Anthro skirt from last spring (super cute!), white short sleeved button up, and red sandals. As I was rushing out the door, I decided I was too matchy and grabbed my go-to black cardigan to break it up. Wrong! Too harsh, I look like I should be joining The White Stripes on stage.
Whatever...it wouldn't be any fun if you couldn't make a mistake now and then.
hmmm...have never been rushed into a faux pas but i have gotten dressed for doing one thing during the day (say grocery shopping, running errands, etc) so i'll have like running pants and a tank top on and then i'll go hang out at a friend's and they'll want to go out to eat or whatever and then i will be in a restaurant looking way underdressed. i hate that. i have now decided to have an "emergency cute outfit" in the car at all times just in case.

TOO funny! I am keeping an emergency cute outfit in the car, too! That happens to me a lot. It goes the other way, too. I will be all dressed up to go to a trendy club and my friends will change their minds about where to go last minute and I'll end up at a casual bar or at a party at someone's house looking way too overdressed in a trying-too-hard kind of way (they don't dress up either way so it doesn't matter for them).
once I wore two different shoes to a quick weekend 1 hr meeting with co-workers, I wasn't embarrassed, I even laughed and pointed it out after the meeting was over. I had been drinking the night before and I woke up late, so I had just rolled into the shower and threw on some clothes and somehow slipped on mismatching shoes. the pairs were laid next to each other, they were both brown sandals of the same brand, just different styles from different years.

I did this once too. I wore them for a good 12 hours and could not figure out why they were so uncomfortable. (it was a thong btw, but wouldn't it be funny if it wasn't?)

I've done this too with thongs when I'vebeen rushed in the morning.
I've also run out with stained clothes and mismatched clothes (pale yellow and black would be bad colors together...). And my 4 am grocery shopping uniform/bloated day wear is a pink velour Juicy set and sand Uggs. Yes, you read that right.

Just last week I wore a pullover top backwards to the grocery store--thankfully, it wasn't inside out--just backwards. I don't know how noticeable it was, but I noticed it after I got home.

I once wore one black and one brown boot. I had no idea because they were the same style and hieght. Someone else pointed it out to me. I made my SO bring the right shoe to me.
-Once upon a time I wore a t-shirt inside out and didn't notice til 1 or 2 hours later at work, no one bothered telling me. I think I had to get dressed in the dark that day because my husband was still sleeping and it was winter-meaning it was dark (excuses excuses).
-Once I forgot to take the sticky transparent size label off the leg of a pair of jeans-a stranger was nice enough to bring it to my attention.
-And twice in the past month I forgot to take the tags out of a garment and didn't realize it 'til hours later. Luckily they were hidden on the inside. hee hee
Most of the time, when Im dressing in the morning, I'll just try on skirts and stuff without panties, so I can add appropriate ones after I've decided. Countless times, I have completely forgot to put on underwear, but thank god, it's never been that big of a deal.
