Madcatz dance pad

So yesterday I was at work and I happen to help a lady who was buying a PS2 and a dancepad set, I asked her if it was for a child or grnachild. She said it was for her, she had done some research and found out that the dance pad was a real great cardio workout. So I thought what the hell I'll give it a try. I bought just the dance pad, since I have the gamecube system. Wow, what a workout!!!!! I did it for about 20 minutes, and I was tired at the end. The disc comes with different settings, workouts, dance face-offs, or just dancing. It also come with different songs. Today I researched on the web and I read a lot of stories of people who have tried it and lost a lot of wieght, I also remeber seeing an iterview on the Today show, where they were talking about this. So just thought I let you gals know, and may want to give it a try.

I saw that Today Show interview, too! I wanted to buy one but I don't have any game system so that would entail a lot of purchases. I wonder if they're cheap on ebay? Hmm...

The DDR pads & games are a steal on e-bay.  My sister and I have been hooked on the game since she got it for xmas.  She's lost about 8 lbs.  I've lost 9 or so with a diet change. I'm back to my highschool weight...woo-hoo!  It's a heck of a workout and fun.  Perfect combination!

you can get DDR for a ps1 which doesn't cost much now adays.  If that's all you want it for get a refurbished PS1 from a game place and then get the pads and game off of ebay or half.com

Some of the games have aerobic exercise settings where they count calories burned and stuff.

I am really interested in this dance pad thing.  The only problem is that I didn't understand most of the lingo you girls were using, "PS1/2, DDR..."  What exactly do I need (in lay terms) to try this and what are approximate Ebay/lowest cost prices I am looking at?

I love to dance.  Love, love, love it.  I think I could have a lot of fun with this.  Does it teach you dance moves to?  What EXACTLY is it?

Thanks for the info.

I don't know what DDR is but I know PS1 is a Play Station 1 and PS2 is a Play Station 2. As for costs, I got no idea!

DDR = Dance Dance Revolution which is for Playstation systems.

You can get a refurbished PS1 at a game store like gameware, eb games, etc (mall store) for around $50 (probably $50 on ebay too).

New pads are $25 each the last time I checked and you would probably want 2 of them.  The games I'm not sure the cost on.  For the PS2 game its around $50 so I'm assuming the PS1 version is much less.

This is a PS1 and is $17.50 on ebay.  Search using Playstation 1 in the search box.

This is a PS2 and it is going for $85 on Ebay.

This is one of the versions for Dance Dance Revolution.  Starts at .01 and goes up to $15.00 Can be played on a PS1 or a PS2 (all games that just say playstation on them are PS1 games and all PS1 games can be played on a PS2 if you get one of them but PS2 games can't be played on a PS1)

These are the dance pads.  The seller is neogames and they are selling 2 pads + the PS1 game from above for a BIN price of $25.00

Hope this helps you out some.

Thanks ISUBG (and I got your IM too), That is exactly the info I am looking for.  I guess I will just use Ebay.  The price seems very reasonable.  And I have seen those dance games at malls/boardwalks and always wanted to play, but didn't for fear of embarressment.

I think I will get one.  I will post my review if I end up buying it.  Thanks again for your help.
