Getting serious - aka 4/20 diet and exercise
Permalink Closed

Okay, girls - I desperately need help! I put on my favorite jeans this morning and they didn't fit right! I haven't gained weight, but I think I'm losing muscle or something. Time to get serious.

Breakfast: haven't had it yet, too panicked re: becoming fat - but will be yogurt and earl gray tea

Lunch: "chicken" sandwich (soy chicken) and strawberries

Dinner: spinach salad with boiled eggs for protein

Snack: fat girls don't get snacks (but I'll probably break down and have ff pudding)

Workout: weights and pilates

B: banana (2)

L: spanikopita (3)- I went a little crazy when I made it last weekend, it's gonna start coming out my ears soon! I'll throw the rest in the freezer I guess.

S: either ice cream or light frap (2, I think)

D: I'll grab something before class. Hopefully a salad.

E: taking a long walk to Georgetown between work and class (I have 2 hours) to find my sister a birthday gift.

I'm panicking (sp??) also.  I just can't get back on the WW wagon!

B: Honey puffed Kashi with 1/2 cup skim milk and banana (5 pts)

L: Boca Burger with cheese and ketchup on bunny bread (thank god this is the last of it! I don't eat it and no one in my family is either but its the only kind my brother will eat and he doesn't eat anything using it! Plus the stupid cheese is the wrong kind so it adds an extra point.  I'm halfway through it) (7pts)

S: 1/2 cup chocolate fudge pudding (2pts maybe), 1/4 cup mixed nuts (4pts)

D: honey lime marinated chicken sandwich with some veggies - I think I'm already over my pts for the day Once I get rid of all the wrong foods it won't be so bad

E: Cardio 40 minutes - jogging 1.5 miles and walking 1-1.5 miles.

l: yogurt & crackers (seriously, it's all i could come up w/ to avoid eating out)

s: veggies or friut, depends what i get at 99c store

Lisa - YOU MUST EAT SNACKS!!!  They just have to be the right kind of snacks (fruit, veggies, nonfat or lowfat dairy, etc).  If you deprive yourself too much your body will go into starvation mode and hoard all the cals you do take in - don't become a yo-yo dieter!

B:  Oatmeal, banana, coffee

S:  Apple

L:  1 fajita, cheese stick, diet soda

D:  Tilapia, salad, roasted baby reds (I know I said I was having this for dinner last night but I had tuna salad on greens b/c it sounded sooooo good after someone else mentioned it yesterday!)

E:  More thighs/abs/stretching tonight

Lisa- try carrots, ff/sf jello, ff/sf pudding, grapes - awesome if you freeze them (same with blueberries), string cheese, 1/4 cup nuts.

All are great snacks and healthy!

Lisa, I agree with LMonet.  Eat healthy snacks!!  If you deprive yourself you'll be more likely to binge on something later on.  Also, everything does not have to be fat free.  Just because you eat something that has fat in it doesn't mean it is going to turn directly into fat on your body.  Aim for healthy not deprivation, your body needs fuel.

Lsu, your diet sounds good to me!  Isn't the point of WW that you can indulge a little bit.

B: yogurt with a bit of granola, coffee

S: apple

L: Lean cuisine chicken carbonera

S: Dunno yet, something healthy

D: hopefully at my parent's house, which will definitely be healthy

Lisa - go with the snacks! It will help get you into those jeans faster, girl! And you know you gotta look good for all those new men that are going to be flocking at your doorstep. (You crack me up!)

Okay, girls, I have a new plan. I'm going to go back everyday and check yes or no on the previous day's post to make sure I did everything/ate everything I said I was going to. And I'll add the things I ate on the sly and take away the things I didn't get around to eating. Make sense? And then I'll do a points total for the day and hopefully give myself a little extra bit of accountability. (That's the plan anyway.)

B: 1 slice reduced-fat cheddar cheese (2 points) & 1 nonfat yogurt (2 points)

L: 2 tostadas, fresco style from taco bell (8 points)

D: hmmm... not sure yet - something on the go b/c it will be a busy night.

E: 4 mile walk/run - goal today is a quick first half-mile run, a quick half-mile walk, and then the rest in steady quarter-mile intervals. (4 points)

Running total: 12 points, leaves 10 for dinner (or 14 if I count the E points)

You girls are all right about snacks. I know it, but I panicked.   Thanks for the ideas, though. I should actually stock up on healthy snacks. Usually I just run and grab peanuts from the vending machine, but I need more variety.

Blubirde, you are sooooo right. You should see them lining up. HA HA.

I have NO doubt that they are, or will be as soon as you're good and ready for them to be!

i love choo--i made spanakopita once and the same thing happened to me--we kept making jokes that it was multiplying itself in the refrigerator while we slept.  there was so much!!

i realized that someone asked me for a recipe for that chicken salad with mango--will post in a new topic.

me today (skipping yesterday because it all fell apart after lunch as i had a very stressful and terrible afternoon):

b: coffee w/half & half, kashi puffed-rice cereal w/a bit of skim milk

s: kashi go-lean protein bar (these are pretty good!)

l: fat-free cheese pizza or quesadilla at sharky's (haven't decided yet)

d: tuna and crackers, maybe some salad, raw veggies with some dressing

e: was planning to go running and do weights, but now i am invited to go out for cocktails...

Alright, time for me to jump on the bandwagon because my diet has been crap lately. Graduation's in 5 weeks and I really want to look good for it.

B: None because I woke up late, was incredibly hungover and had no time to eat before running to class.

L: Tomato soup, Cup and a half of cold noodle salad with lots of veggies

S: Salt 'n Vinegar soy crisps (so good), string cheese

D: Probably Tom Yum Thai soup. It's kind of like hot and sour. My throat is killing me and the spice in this soup always makes me feel better. Not the best thing I could eat but not the worst either.

S: Fruit or sorbet...anything BUT the cheesecake my roomate baked over the weekend that taunts me everytime I walk by the fridge!

E: hour kickboxing
