i just started taking a multi-vitamin on tuesday. i didn't really feel lethargic or anything, i just wanted to try a multi to "be healthier." i used to take a brand called source of life about 5 yrs ago and liked it so i thought i'd try it again. anyway, after spending $29.99 on a bottle of these vitamins, i totally hate the way they make me feel. for one, they make me extremely hungry!! at first i thought the increased appetite was due to my period or working out, but i've never noticed these symptoms before during those times. i had the same problem yesterday and today, so i'm pretty sure it has something to do with those vitamins. has anyone else experienced this? i googled it and apparently it's not totally uncommon. also, it made me feel a bit dizzy as well, and i only ate them with meals or snacks.
hmm, what to do with an opened bottle of expensive vitamins? i thought about maybe taking just half a dose only at night so i'm asleep when the side effects occur, so it wouldn't be a total waste of money but i don't really even want to do that. also tried to give them away at the gym but there were no takers. maybe my husband will take them.
My only thought is to look at the individual vitamins/minerals in the pills and try to figure out if perhaps there's too much of something. If that's the case, maybe only taking half each day would be a good idea.
I think the dizzy thing is more problematic than the hunger issue. Being dizzy makes me think that there's something unbalanced about the pill.

I take a multi every morning and never experienced any problems. I use the store brand of Woman's Once Daily (I think it's made by Nature's First or something like that.) They are around $10 for 100 pills and often my grocery store has a buy one get one fee deal on them.
I always take my vitamin with a meal since i heard it makes the absorption easier.
If the pills you have are giving you these side effects, stop taking them right away. Dizziness is not something to mess with. I know you spent money on them, but $30 isn't worth risking your health.
thanks, girls. i've stopped taking them and don't feel as hungry as i did while taking them. i don't think it's the vitamin per se but the way my body reacts to it (or maybe to any multivitanin). i looked it up on amazon and the reviews were phenomenal (nothing below 5 stars) so i don't why it didn't work well for me. thanks again!
