Last week, I posted a thread about my credit card debt problem and that I was looking to switch my high balance from my Chase card because they had taken away my 0% interest intro rate due to 1 late payment. Well i just called Chase cust. service and told them that I was an employee and that was the only time I've ever been late, and asked if they could restore my 0% interest and take off the late charge, and guess what?? They did. So my 0% interest is back and no late fee to pay.
I am so glad I did my research and called. It really pays to call and ask - I'm so glad I did. Now I don't have to transfer. Thanks to everyone who posted and helped me out

You know - the minute I told her I was an employee, she did it immediately! Then she was like "it's been a pleasure talking to and helping out a collegue!" I'm glad I can stay w/Chase since I work here - nice to know there are benefits.

Not always...this happened to me with a Household Bank no interest card that I had. I begged and pleaded with them, I even talked to a manager and they still wouldn't do it. So I paid off the balance by phone (it was only $200) and cancelled the card right then and there.
They actually had the nerve to ask me why they were losing my business. Duh!
BTW, shopchicago, I'm really happy that everything worked out for you.

That's great news! I totally believe that it never hurts to ask. I've called my credit card company several times and asked them to either lower my interest rate or extend a promotional rate and they have always said yes.
