...on a TYPICAL day? meaning not when you are going out on saturday night but when its a normal work or school day? How early before you have you have to leave do you wake up? How much time to put on makeup? Do you shower beforehand?

It takes me an hour (with shower) to get ready in the morning and I start getting ready immediately upon waking up.  I can really get ready a lot faster than that, but I am very slow in the morning.

I think the breakdown would be something like this:

25 minutes--shower

25 minutes--hair

10 minutes--make-up

normally one hour... although yesterday I was pressed for time and did it in a half hour! probably not as thoroughly as my one hour prep, but I still did it!  sometimes I wish I was a guy - it only takes them like 15 min.  but the thought of shaving my face is not appealing...

If I feel too tired to make any effort, I can get ready in less than 10 minutes. I don't care because I'm going to school. I literally roll out of bed and then just go.

Usually though it takes me about half an hour. I spend 15 minutes doing my hair and makeup and another 15 minutes deciding what I'm going to wear for the day. I don't really shower beforehand because it takes too much time, and I'm usually in a rush to leave anyway.

At least an hour.. and that is leaving the house with a wet head.

Hour and 15 or hour and 30 min - total - if I and drying and ironing my hair.

Needless to say, I havent been on time for ANYTHING in years :(

I putz around soo much in the morning.  I read my work/personal e-mail, surf the net, make coffee.  Sometimes I do laundry, clean the bathroom etc.
After I get my act together, I probably spend 30 minutes tops "getting ready": 10-15 minute shower, 3 min. brush my teeth, 5 minutes hair (I rarely do anything to it except dry it enough so it doesn't look wet and when I'm too lazy to do that I just put it up in a bun).  The rest of the time goes into getting dressed.  As unbelievable as it might sound, I hate primping on a daily basis.   My logic says investing in cute clothes/shoes/bags and a decent haircut = less time wasted getting ready.
My "face" consists of tinted moisturizer, mascara and lip gloss but it gets applied in the car.  I know (!)  It's a terrible habit but it works for me.

Of course I DO make more of an effort when I'm going out at night or on weekends, but it's a whole different ball game then.  And usually it involves wine ;)

i get up about an hour before i have to leave the house. but actually "getting-ready"... i don't know. i spend probably an extra 5-10 minutes in bed, 5-10 making coffee and feeding my cats, 10 minutes picking out what to wear... so my shower, makeup, hair don't really take that much time at all.

It takes about an hour - usually a little less, but I like to piddle around while I'm getting ready. If I didn't give in to all of the distractions, I could probably do it in half an hour if I really tried. I get up about an hour and 10 minutes or so before I have to leave and I shower every morning.

Shower: 10 minutes
Drying/Brushing hair: 10 minutes (it's super thick)
Make up: Less than 5 minutes
After shower stuff: (lotion, combing hair, putting contact in, etc.) 10 minutes

Walking out the door feeling like a million bucks: Priceless
(Sorry, it sounded so much like a master card commercial I had to continue! )

1 hour to 1:15 - I take long showers, I am paranoid about my teeth, I have to moisturize. If I start skipping things, I can cut 15 minutes, but then I do not feel "ready" I'm just out the door...

Usually 20 min. 5 min brushing my teeth and washing my face, 5 min doing my hair, 10 min getting dressed. If I shower it's at least an hour, which is why I never do. I'm really slow at showering. There are also many mornings where I wake up 10 minutes before class.

I am feeling terribly high-maintenance after reading everyone else's replies.  But I thought I'd give a shout to all my high-maintenance sisters!

I get up at 6:15 and don't leave the house until 7:45, sooooooooo 1 1/2 hours!!!  For the record I DESPISE being rushed in the morning and if I am rushed I drive my poor OCD self crazy all day trying to remember if I turned off the coffee pot and my hair straightener.  I also spend almost a 1/2 hour eating/drinking coffee/watching the Today show.

However, my FH is very appreciative of how, ahem, 'short' my get-ready time is after seeing how long is takes roomie's crazy girlfriend to get ready - more than 2 hours!!!  It's all relative I guess!

I take about 1/2 hour.  I hate make-up and don't wear very much at all. The bulk of my getting ready is taking a shower and then trying to decide what to wear.  If I've picked out an outfit the night before, then I can cut my time down to 20 minutes. I really should start picking my outfits out for the week on Sunday night. Then I could sleep 10 minutes longer.

30 min--this includes getting dressed, putting on makeup, fixing hair.  I have it down to an art form.  If you count breakfast and feeding my cats it takes 45 min.

about 1-1.5 hours, most of it for shower and reading email+breakfast. I am very slow in the morning! It takes me about 10 inutes to dress, because I usually figure out what to wear the night before.

ugh, i hate mornings.  i usually oversleep, then run around like a maniac trying to make myself presentable.  most mornings i leave the house with wet hair (if i washed it that day) and i do my makeup on the train to work.  ewwww.  bed to train= 35 minutes (that's including a shower and everything).  i reeeaaally need to go to bed earlier so i can wake up earlier and not be such a spaz.

30-60 mins. Depends on how early I have to get up.

If I have to get up really early then it takes me about 30 mins, so I can get the most sleep possible. If I am not getting up early or in a hurry then about 60 mins. I piss around for a long time.

I hate morning so I literally roll out of bed and get in the car. I pick out my clothes, have a shower, make lunch all the night before so in the morning I brush my teeth and put on my clothes and go. All told, about 5-7 minutes.

about an hour if I shower in the morning....I shower, blow dry and flat iron my hair and get dressed....I put my make-up on in the car....
If I shower at night it takes about 20 minutes to wash my face, brush my teeth and run teh flat iron through my hair...
