I currently intern at a place that does recruiting for retail companies. I make $11/hr. plus a bonus for every person I recruit. The job is pretty easy - I sit around and make 25 phone calls in a 7 hour day. That's like one hour of work. The only bad part is that sometimes the people you talk with are rude, and also, a lot of times the referrals fall through and it is hard to get the bonus. I was wondering if anyone did this full time. He mentioned around $40,000 as the starting salary, plus like $500/1000 for each person you recruit. So it could be like $65,000 starting salary, not a very hard job, and more if you work pretty hard. My boss said he was making around $200,000 a year for a while and a lot of people stick in the business because it's good money and not bad hours (unlike my friend who is going to start as an investment banker in July and work 120 hour weeks!) I had never even heard of this line of work until I got my internship through a friend. Does anyone have any tips/experiences with recruiting?
