Bumper Stickers
Permalink Closed

I thought it would be fun to list off some bumper stickers that love and hate.  These are bumper stickers that I do not have.  All I have is my college one on my back window.

* Please keep in mind that - - just because someone hates or likes a bumper sticker - - does not necessarily mean they are opposed to what it says/supports/criticizes, etc.  *

Love:
I have to admit that I loved the Save the Ta-tas sticker when I first saw it.  Not anymore though.

If you can't trust me with a choice, how can you trust me with a baby?

Critical Thinking:  The Other National Deficit

      F
The President

Dislike:
My husband saves lives; what does yours do? (paired with other EMT, firefighter, etc. stickers)

Stickers that feature only a brand for no reason, like I saw someone with a SoBe sticker one day.  It's a frickin beverage brand!

The Calvin & Hobbes ones (pissing and sans pissing)

Bumper stickers for franchise mega-churches like Elevation Church

Support Terrorism; Vote Democrat

I loved the "end of an error" stickers with the anaugeration date on them.

A Mercury Milan is on my drive route to work, and it has a bumber sticker that implies "buy American, support America" (can't recall exact wording). I just want to roll down my window and tell him his car was made in Mexico, presumably by Mexicans (but, yes, the profits did go to an american car company).

That's funny, I was JUST talking to DH the other day about how I pretty much hate all bumper stickers with the exception of college ones and some sports ones.  I know I'll probably strike a nerve with some people here, but I especially hate these:

My hatred comes from two perspectives:  1) they are EVERYWHERE and it's annoying; 2) if your car is parked in a dark parking lot do you really want everyone who passes by to know that your car belongs to a woman?  (No man would have either of these on his car.)  From a personal safety perspective, I think these are a bad idea.  There are crazy people out there and I don't want just any old shmuck driving past me to know exactly how many children are in my family so they can follow me home or into a parking lot.

Rant over.  smile.gif

Amen, NCShopper. I've even seen those with the names of the kids! Duh!!

I also hate the "R.I.P." decals with the name and birth/death dates of someone. Why would anyone put that on their car?

There were some good ones from the campaign season, like "Jesus was a community organizer" and "That One '08."

My favorites include

Suasoria - I totally agree about the R.I.P. stickers. When I die, I hope no one chooses to memorialize me like that!

ITA with the family stickers, RIP stickers, and just generally any kind of sticker with the driver's name on it. A good friend of mine has a sticker with her name on it on the drivers side, and her daughter's name on the passenger side. I love her but it drives me insane.

This is the one I hate the most. There's a car on my commute covered in them.  It irritates me to the point of elevated heart rate every morning.  NOBAMA.png

My favorite is the Coexist one that Suasoria posted.

I hate stickers that have small print.  It's very distracting!

OMG--the RIP stickers crack me up!!! Like, when I die, do I really want to be remembered by some faded, peeling crappy ass window sticker? No. Also, what is in the memory of the deceased person? The car? I died, so you got a car in memory of me??? That's fair. Or is it the drive that's in memory of the person? "I dedicate this trip to the supermarket and this drive to the gym and this morning commute to work to the memory of dear Jim"??? That makes no sense. Those stickers make no damn sense. Can you tell you struck a nerve here? wink.gif

Me neither, even when I agree. The majority of the bumper stickers I see around here are for Obama.

I hate when I see cars with old a$$ campaign stickers, like Nader ones from the 2000 election or Kerry or Gore (my neighborhood is very liberal). Recently, I keep seeing a car with a Buck Flagojevich bumper sticker in my neighborhood.

Same here. My older kid has came home with Honor Roll Student bumper stickers lots of times and we wont put it on our cars. My little one is really emotional and when he got his first one, same rules applied to him! Though I did scothc tape it to my fridge where everyone can see it wink.gif

When I die, I'm willing you my car with the stipulation that you must display an RIP sticker in my honor. Then at least it would make SOME sense.

I don't like bumper stickers either; however, I saw one once that said,  I SWERVE AND HIT PEOPLE AT RANDOM. I think I found it so amusing because it was an old man that looked like a total asshole that probably would try to hit people. Don't say you haven't been warned!

I know this other one is weird but I also like it. I think only because my dad was in Vietnam, I also like some USMC ones. Again, weird, I know.
