I run in the summer at a metropark. It can get really hot- 90 degrees and 90% humidity, you sweat just standing. There are lot of times families’ w/ children and elderly people at the park.
My question is- what is inappropriate to work out in @ the park? I usually run in boxers and a T-shirt, but I was thinking about wearing just a sports bra. I am pretty weird about clothes and very rarely do I wear tank tops, so I think wearing a sports bra is wigging me out a little. I have the tank top bras that cover your stomach, but even those can get really hot when you are running up hill in hot weather. I just think the less fabric the better.
I know this is a stupid question, but I just can’t decide. I don't want to be slutting it up in the park. Thanks girls!

There are tons of runners in my neighborhood, and although it's not a park, there are a lot of playgrounds and families around. Girls run in sports bras and shorts all the time and guys run without their shirts on. I think if guys run with their shirts off at the park, you can certainly run in a sports bra. You're not showing any more than they are. Go for it!
Usually what I do is wear the tank top style sports bras made of moisture-wicking fabric, and then if I get really hot I just fold the bottom up. As long as your shorts aren't tooooooo short, I doubt anyone would be offended or think you're 'slutting it up'.

lmonet is right--the moisture wicking fabric is key for keeping your cool. I have a few tops from mountain hardwear that I run in--love them--so lightweight.
this thread is cracking me up. i think i'd feel self-conscious too. there have been times i've wanted to go in just a sports bra, but never did. so i have nothing useful to add other than "i feel your pain."

how should I call it? I am from Italy, and I learned the word from running mags... I don't even know what the difference btw a singlet and a tank would be!
hey ico, no need for the embarassed smilies. and honestly, i'm not sure there is a difference, i think it's just a european term. you know, like how the Brits call the trunk of a car the boot, or whatever. i had never even heard that term until i went to Australia, but i enjoy it, i like it much better than tank top or undershirt or something.
Too funny! I have a great fondness for learning what things are called in other cultures/countries (does anyone recall the pop/soda/dinner/supper discussion?). Anyway, this is what comes to my mind when I hear singlet:

When I was in track&field, in hs, some guys would wear this things at the track. We are still making fun of them (15+ years later)
