A comment someone made yesterday while we were watching Napoleon Dynamite (he said he was Napoleon in jr. high) got me thinking about this poll.
What movie/television/book character have people told you you're like?
What movie/television/book character are you actually like?
For me I've been told an umpteenth number of times that I'm like Polly in Along Came Polly and I've gotten quite a few Elles from Legally Blonde (only because I'm blonde and a lawyer).
Who I'm really like, however, is Bridget in Bridget Jones' Diary with some Daria from Daria (that old MTV cartoon) and Samantha from SATC thrown in on top to mix it all up. I'm 60% Bridget, 20% Daria, and 20% Samantha.
Elmyra Duff from Tiny Toon Adventures. I lub aminals!
i've never been told that, but it was seriously the first thing that popped in my head. i do really love puppies. i'll have to think of a "serious" character.

I don't know if I'm like her in her life, but when I was young I idolized Blaire from Facts of Life... maybe in high school but definitely not now.
I think I'm a lot like Miranda on SATC. Not the best dressed, but my favorite character because she's logical, isn't ruled by emotions, practical, and cynical.
My friends in college always said I reminded them of Karen from Will and Grace. Not in looks, but in personality. She's funny, stylish, and likes to drink so I see a few similarities
I've been told I'm a combination of Rachel and Monica from 'Friends.' Monica b/c of the obsession with being neat, clean and orderly and Rachel b/c I can be a little bit of a ditz at times, but not a complete airhead (I just have moments).
I'm totally Miranda from SATC. People tell me it all the time and it's sooooo true. I'm more laidback and more of a slacker than she is, but we have the same sense of humor, think about things the sam way and I think just put off the same vibe. I'm very blunt, sarcastic, and to the point.
Charlotte from SATC and a little bit of Carrie. Mostly Charlotte b/c I am so preppy and want to get married, but then sometimes I like to mix it up a bit and more like Carrie(style wise).
I got Sarah Michelle Gellar once from an EX on Buffy. I don't slay vampires though...
Personality- I am goofy, so Cameron Diaz sometimes, but then in high school I got Alicia Silverston from Clueless...b/c of the clothes!

Ah!!! Ramona Quimby!!! I'd forgotten all about her. She's kind of like a little-girl Bridget, wouldn't you say? Maybe a bit more of a tomboy. But then I always imagined Ramona grew up to be serious and thoughtful. Ya think?
My brother thinks I'm totally Monica (which would make him Ross?) b/c I am a chef and a bit complusive about neatness. Also probably b/c we have our stupid sibling things, too (like when they were dancing "the routine" or wrestling. Ahhh, I miss Friends.)

LOL, my husband calls me that because I am crazy about our cats.
People have told me I have the personality of Miranda from SATC, too.

Hmm intersting. I could defintely see that. But because Ramona and I were basically the same person at the age of 8, I think we would grow up to be the same person. I think she would be smart, but also goofy and get herself into messes. Like a serious and thoughtful Bridget? Cause Bridget is just too dumb sometimes.
I've been compared to Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie (not too flattering!) and Sonia in Crime and Punishment but I can't think of a character that I really resemble.
I love Ramona Quimby! Remember when she got that pixie haircut and stupid Beatrice gets a wonky cut? Haha

Remember the larvae in the class and then she got ill? I think of that scene every time I feel nauseated. If I just stay really still, don't even blink an eyelash, maybe the feeling will pass.
And Maddie, I don't think Bridget is stupid (I'm defending here because I seriously feel like her a lot of the time - not with boys but with real life), she just acts impulsively without thinking and ends up looking a fool. But in an adorable way. Right? RIGHT?
Blubirdie, I also feel like Bridget a lot of the time. I can be a real idiot as anyone who knows me will tell you. However, I do have redeeming moments where I can have intelligent conversations and stuff, which I don't think Bridget really has. Which is why I relate to Ramona more. I think she gets herself into dumb situations, but she was going to grow up to be a successful adult, if not a little bit of a spaz.

Man, I love me some Bridget vs. Ramona debate!
It's true. Bridget doesn't seem to have such spectacularly intelligent conversations. I bet Ramona read a lot as she got older and had deep thoughts - ones Bridget didn't, although I'm sure she read too. I think Ramona grew up to be a bit fringey, don't you think? I wish there was an adult Ramona Quimy series. That would be the coolest.
I was talking with a friend about this and I think our best fit was a young version of Deborah from Everybody Loves Raymond. But I'm still not convinced of that. I mean, she seems smart, and she is sarcastic/ funny, but I think I have a little more joy in my personality than she does. Or I'm sweeter/ not as tough. And I pray that I NEVER have in-laws like hers!!!
Otherwise, who can't identify with Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice?
Hmm, maybe 60% Deborah, 40% Elizabeth Bennet. Yep, I think that's it.
