i've been wondering lately what styles of jeans are "in", in terms of rise, leg openings and washes. i know skinnies are still going strong, as are wide legs, but what other types should i be buying? are the plain bootcut still in? what about the flares? and i've been seeing zippered-bottomed (eek!) and stonewashed (double eek!) lately, is anyone actually wearing these styles? are deconstructed jeans "so last year"? and what do you think about the high-waisted, jessica simpson-type look? and colored jeans?
what are your opinions?
some pics to get you thinking:

supposedly what Allie posted about is "in" right now, but I honestly don't see them catching on. I'm sticking with skinnies, trouser cuts, and bootcut in a dark wash.
Bootcuts are about the only thing that works for my body shape so I just stick with them. I like the look of the destroyed style but I don't think I'm brave enough to try them out.

Ditto - jeans are so hard for me to find... I am hesitant to follow trends, am more concerned with getting a good fit and being trendy with accessories or tops. Bootcuts are my staple!
I'm looking for a super light wash for spring/summer. I just don't get the destroyed look. I hate how skinny jeans feel on me (like my calves are choking!) so I'm wanting either wide leg or slightly flared.
What I consider "in" are any shade wash; skinny, straight, slight flare, and wide leg.
Things that should go away are very destroyed looks, zipper bottoms, pegged-man jeans, and I have yet to see colored jeans look nice.
I'm loving my skinnies, zippered skinnies, and straight leg jeans still. I haven't tried the super light washes or BF jeans yet. I just don't think they'd be flattering on me.
I'll wear my slimmer bootcuts still occassionally, but the wider bootcuts feel weird now. Some of my co-workers have been wearing really flared bottoms but called them wide leg, but fitted at the thighs. I dunno - still look like bell bottoms to me.
I also like my colored jeans as do some of my co-workers. Bright colors are fun and different - I really like those yellow ones clothes_horse posted!
Allie's post are wha all the mags and celebs seem to be wearing, probably a lot of HS and college girls can get away with wearing those on a more daily basis. We wear jeans a lot at work, but I can't see those being office appropriate.
