Woo hoo! I just booked our trip to DW at the end of March. Anyone have any planning advice for me? We already have the hotel and a 5 day park hopper for everyone (absolutely KILLER Military deal, if you want info on free tickets, PM me). So, I'm set with that stuff, but the rest of it is so overwhelming. I've been to Disneyland many times, but this is so much bigger. Where to begin? Books, websites???
Oh Goodness. I love Disney World. The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World is the best book by far, in my opinion. I don't really have much advice because it will really all be based on your likes and dislikes. I know I love MGM and I usually spend a day and a half there because there are so many shows to see that we normally run out of time, but some people don't like MGM. You do NEED to see all of the night shows. Fantasmic at MGM is amazing. It is usually full so getting there early is a good idea. Other than that have fun. I love the Animal Kingdom Safari as well. We will be going back to Disney in March. Plan to spend an entire day at each park.
I don't know if this is part of the passes you got, but when we went we added something on that let us jump to the front of the lines for the rides. It was soooo worth it!

Oooh, I'll have to look into that! That would be awesome!
No, the deal that the just announced a couple of days ago is a Hero Salute type program for 2009. Busch has done one for the past few years where active duty military and up to 4 dependents get a free ticket once a year to one of their theme parks. What Disney is doing is even more amazing. They're giving a 5 day park hopper to the active duty person, and then letting you buy up to 4 additional 5 day passes for $99 each. I think we have to add on $25 to make them park hoppers. This is for Disney World. Disneyland's program is a bit different. I'm sure this deal is coming around now because they're hitting some harder time with the economy being what it is. They're getting people to their parks to spend money there that might not have gone without the big discount. Lucky for us, we were planning on going in March anyway and hadn't bought tickets yet!
So if you know any military members, pass it on. It's for all services.
