I am getting tired of my hair and I want to get about 5 or 6 inches cut off. I have liked this haircut for a few months now, but I was trying to grow my hair out. I decided a few days ago that I look better w/ shorter hair. I was all ready to go get my hair chopped and then I was thinking that with my nerd glasses and this haircut I am going to look like Velma from Scooby Doo. I just can't picture my hair and glasses looking cute together. I am suppose to go tonight to get it cut, but I don't know now.
This is what it would normally look like. This is is messy and curly, but I don't think I can get it to look like that.

Very cute, but that's a lot of hair to cut off @ once if you're not absolutely sure. If you've got any doubt, cut 2-3 first & then go back for the rest if you still want the cut. This way, you won't have any potential regrets.
hey hon, i went this length just before julia did & everyone says i look like her (i've was asked for her autograph back when she was in save the last dance) so i found it hilarious when she came out w/ "my" haircut. i actually have a graduated bob so it's not the same cut or anything, but totally the same length (well, not anymore, mine's grown out quite a bit). anyways, it's hard to say about how ur hair will look w/ ur glasses, do u have any pics of them? are they thick rimmed? i dunno, i picture u just looking very smart w/ this cut & glasses. too bad ur hair's not longer, i would say donate it to Locks of Love. i think it has to be at least 8 or 10 inches tho. well, good luck!

they look similar to this, but more of red brown color.
I think that it will probably look cute together, but I just have this picture of Velma in my head and I can't get it out.

I tried going almost to that length when I still had glasses (black plastic rims, very geek chic...) and the only reason I didn't like it was because I have the world's shortest neck so I basically looked like a no necked person. My glasses looked really cute with it though.
I ended up getting it cut off. I had changed my mind and decided I was just going to get my hair cut a little longer than the pictureI showed my stylist the picture, but told her I and told her I liked how her bangs looked, but I wanted the length about 1.5-2 inches loner. She started cutting the back first and before I realized it she was cutting it pretty short. By that time it was too late to tell her that it was too short. I actually ended up really liking it, so I am glad she did it.
I don't look like Velma from Scooby Doo.
Does anyone have any tips or suggetions on how to make my hair look like the second picutre? What products I should use? I have thin hair, but a lot of thin hair. It can hold a curl, but it is naturally straight. I am going to expirement in a little, but what just looking for some input. Thanks!

i actually really like that "beach blonde" sea salt spray. it's by john frieda & it really gives texture & volume (not that i need it, my hair is thick, but sounds like it would work for u... i used to use it when my hair was long for "sexy waves"). just spray it on & "scrunch" ur hair. if ur hair holds curl pretty well i think it should work, but then again my hair is thick & wavy so maybe u don't want to take my advice!

I second this. Also, you can just use really salty water in a spritzer bottle and it will do basically the same thing (think of how your hair looks after a swim in the ocean)

what you need is a curling iron (1" barrel preferably) and half curl the hair back- grabbing the hair in the middle and only curling one roll... then i would work a taffy and light spray to hold it with movement...
i hope my explanation makes sense... its hard to explain without being able to show you.
I have the john Frieda stuff, but I don't think I have ever used. I just buy so much hair crap and then it sits in my bathroom. I will have to use it.
Bex- your explination makes sense. I will give that a try. I did that before when my hair was a lot longer and it give it that messy curled look, so I will try it again. Thanks everyone.
