These, but in pint glasses, no longer on the website. It's the bar in "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" which is one of our favorite shows

I feel like I should get something else but I just can't think of anything in my price range!

ETA: looking at the presents I got, it makes it look like my BF is some kind of dumb frat guy/jock/meathead, but I promise he's not wink.gif

We just bought a house, so I got DH a Dremel, a level, and a leatherman tool. I also got him The Dark Knight on blu-ray and a large coffee mug that says "Yarr!" on it since he likes pirates.

Dremel tool set

slippers

The Science of Good Food (it's a book) - My SO is very science-minded, and always wants to know why you do things a certain way when cooking, why things happen the way they do, etc.

a creeper (the thing you can lay on and roll under vehicles while you are working on them), a nice grill untensil set, slippers, a couple of movies, and maybe some cologne depending on how much he has left. But the best part is I was able to actually use some of my time off so we can go visit DH's family! clap.gif

I gave him the shaver gift early since he needs to shave every day for his new job:

Got a great deal...normally $60+, it was on sale at WM for $50 and I had a $10 coupon so it was only $40!

It's a GPS Heart Rate Monitor.  Also Whiskey Stones for his scotch.  They look pretty cool...

I got him two Penguin-brand shirts from Nord.  He really likes their shirts, but he won't spend the money on them.

I already gave him his "cool" gift for his birthday last month--tickets to go see David Byrne in Charlotte.

Those Whiskey Stones would be a cool "topper" gift for him.  Too bad they're sold out everywhere.

Athletic socks, plain white t-shirts, a yummy porcini-lentil soup mix so he can make dinner some night all by himself like a big boy, a few books on his Amazon wish list (which I already gave him), and this portobello mushroom growing kit:

I was having the most difficult time and DH finally mentioned a couple of things he'd like:

A new shaver
Braun 360 Complete Shaver

and a new camcorder
and all the ornaments that they suggested I buy for it

DH is scoring big this year. He's getting a wine fridge, and his bday is 12/28 and he is turning 40...so he's getting a set of golf clubs. His choice. Cash. Plus I found a great picture for his home office.

And we remodeled the HIDEOUS downstairs bath, so that's a bonus treat for both of us. :)

I got DH a new plush bathrobe, some long johns (we live in Minneapolis), truffles, and a little chocolate guitar.

Oh Tara - I read "The Zombie Survival Guide" this summer - it's freaky!

I got the BF a Sony Blu Ray player as good as the PS3's (but without the game capabilities so he won't be playing games ;), a Michael Kors cashmere hoodie from Saks' Nov. sale, an iPhone speaker system/alarm clock that you can snooze by waving your hand, an iPhone charger, a couple of basic tees/sweaters from the Gap, and a six-person dish set for his new house. I actually liked it so much I got the same set for myself, so as a bonus if/when we live together we'll be able to entertain twelve.

The puppies gave him a set of long underwear so he is more comfy taking them out when the windchill is -30. He thought it was amusing ;)

The world of computers is simple, buy the tools you need to get the job done.  In order to do so you need to identify the tasks in that job appropriately, research what tool completes that task most efficiently and most cost effectively, then buy it.  Microsoft is doing everything they should be doing as far as making new OS's to help us get our jobs done easier.  My point being, if you don't like Win 7, great. There's no need for you to post your uneducated subjective negative opinions about it on a site meant to educate potential users about its functionality.  If you don't want it, don't buy it, I don't understand why this is so hard for people in general to swallow.  I personally adore XP but it no longer suits my needs and I've been waiting for a better version of Vista to hit the floors.  It's here, I'm happy, my needs are meant, done.
