does anyone besides me care about this being on tonight? this whole season has been dull and i care little for jen, but i will be watching it (i'm no quitter!)
Check out what I found...I thought this was him....no Jen stay away, Did I miss the part where he goes into pick a ring...he guys how is it going ....I will be back to work tomm....
Looks like The Bachelorette has been caught in the act yet again. Just a few days after TVgasm revealed to the world that potential suitor Fabrice is gay, we bring news of yet another oversight in casting. Jerry, the dreamy stud who literally swept bachelorette Jen Schefft off her feet, is a reality veteran. You see, while Jerry's bio claims he's an art gallery director, fans of The Real World: Back to New York might be more familiar with his OTHER job — that of a doorman at one Harry Winston's. Yes, Jerry is the famous doorman who seduced the lovestruck Lori for a multi-episode arc, only to act like she had five heads after she finally had the nerve to ask him on a date (suddenly he was "engaged"). I suppose I should have realized Jerry's reality whore tendencies after I walked past Harry Winston's two years ago and he was eagerly taking photos with adolescent girls.
Nevertheless, this ranks as yet another blow to Jen Schefft who has now been saddled with a gay man and a recycled reality star. And let's not mention the Joe Millionaire-ish explanation Jerry's gonna have to give when he tries to pass off the Harry Winston storefront as an "art gallery"
Oh I just like to see what she is wearing...that is why I watch. I think she still loves Andrew...
Chic, that is so weird! I am so pissed that they are dragging this out for THREE hours, but bumblebee, I'm joining you in the perfect attendance club. . .

I can't believe it - I think i'm in shock over the finale!!!! I will hold off in case any of you are on the west coast, but we need to chat about this tomorrow!!!!!
I have a true love / hate relationship with this show.

I just finished watching it here on the west coast...
I was so shocked and a little disappointed but if she didn't feel it then I'm glad she didn't say yes. On the other hand I sorta feel like she could have let him know when he went down on one knee instead of dragging it out for months. I really felt sorry for Jerry but he was so nice about it.
Chic--is that story really true? I can't remember which girl was Lori from the real world. But I have to say that a guy in my class (I live in the LA area) said he knows him and I asked him about his job a few weeks ago (my mom and I were curious as to whether he really had a job as an art gallery director) and he said he really did work as a gallery director. I will ask him again on Wed. when I see him.
I just couldn't believe it. I do have to respect her for not just caving & taking a ring to save face on tv, but I do think she could have let him know all that before they got on national tv. I know she kept saying "we both feel" but he looked VERY surprised. I don't think anyone could have faked the expression on his face. I mean, he was offering her a ring!!!!! My husband jokingly said "when he asked what he was supposed to do with this ring, did he mean like who am I supposed to turn it over to at the network?"!!!!
I have to wonder if the producers did or didn't know that this was going to happen. Rating are the worst they have ever been for this show & that certainly did shake things up a bit!
Also, for the audience member that asked her "it didn't work out with Andrew or John Paul, and now Jerry, what exactly is it that you are looking for?" - has that woman never dated 3 guys that she didn't marry? Goodness knows that I have!!!! Good for her for having the good sense to say "my Mr. Right just isn't here" - again, I do respect her for that.
I just HATE that I feel compelled to watch this show every time it airs!!!!!!! Maybe I should seek help for reality TV addiction.

none of the guys would make her happy. jerry is such a tool. jp is a little better. ryan...being a teacher did not make enough money for her....and i agree...i think the reason that she is doing all of this is for the publicity. she works for a marketing firm in chicago...now she's trying to market herself. i think her and bill rancic (also a chicago native) should get together and be reality has beens together.

I personally loved last night's ending. I have been watching for most of the season and it seems like Jen was not having fun at all. Although Jerry is a hottie, neither relationship seemed all that great to me - I mean she was having too many doubts and looking miserable - and so I'm really glad she chose no one. I think Jerry will be just fine, and honestly he didn't really look all that surprised......

CHIC, I knew Jerry was the same guy from the Back to NY Real World, I just hadn't gotten around to googling it to try and find out. Thanks for posting this!
WOW, okay so now I am congratulating my memory skills, because I didn't watch that Real World as closely as others and it was a long time ago, didn't it air in 2001 and was filmed pre 9/11?
Still, I think Jerry is too much for Jen. He's intimidating and has layered personality (though maybe it's just a front, it's still too much of a challenge) She's a regular gal, a guy like Jerry won't give her enough confidence. She didn't come out and say it, but it looked like she just didn't feel comfortable around Jerry anymore.
I like Jen, but I think she was pretty immature throughout. All the pressure, her friends didn't help enough either. One of them should have stepped up and rubbed her shoulders and said, "Relax. It's okay, you do not HAVE to pick either guy, trust yourself, no decision here is life ruining."

It is possible that the guy does work as a gallery director now. I am not working at the same job I had in 2000. I'm also not living in the same state. He was also probably an idiot college kid back then and I do remember Lori - she was a swear word that begins with the letter B.
I think she hung him out to dry. I don't like her at all anymore. I also thought that outfit made her look wide. BTW, she is dating her boss. I work with one of her friends and she confirmed it for me, but they were trying to keep it quiet until the show was over. Yeah, right.

This is the first time I watched this show, and even though I watched every single eposide it made me so mad. First of all anyone who goes on this show in my opinion is just trying to get famous and recognized. Second, I do not think she had any intention of choosing any of them. She kept eliminating all the guys who were her "perfect guys" but of course there were no spark. And Jerry, even though he was there to the end she knew that she did not want to marry him. All along she kept questioning him. She only chose him because he was the one who was in it for fame too. I used to like her but after last night she made me mad.

My sentiments exactly. Jerry seemed really surprised, I thought he was going to cry. Come Jerry, I will comfort you. ;) Was that her outfit? I thought it was our new wide screen tv.... I promise I did, I had just kind of adjusted. What does she do for a living?

This was taken from a website tvgasm. I am sure that he does not work there anymore, I just knew that I had seen him somewhere, I just thought it was funny when he went into get the ring...he put his hands up like hello, long time no see! I thought her outfit was outdated D&G and that came across very real to me and kind of like Jerry didn't really make much effort when it came to the long distance...who knows she is gone now. Also she already date Bill Ranic, but I think that is what you meant!
I think she hung him out to dry. I don't like her at all anymore. I also thought that outfit made her look wide
I totally agree, I dont like her anymore either! Out of Andrew, J.P, and Jerry she felt no sparks? I know someone said as if "we never dated 3 guys and not marry them" but this was different. They werent just normal dates. And she kept saying J.P had everything she was looking for in a man? She's just a confused women and she wants attention. And I do think Jerry was surprised, he even asked her what would change her mind/feelings last night on t.v So that means in between breaks of the show they were talking to each other and she was still leading him on!
i didn't watch the first hour--i caught the second half of the show and the "after the rose" thing. it was a bit anticlimactic because i had heard already that this very scenario happened. i'm not really surprised. i started disliking jen based on her simpering, vapid interviews from about the second episode on, so i think both guys were really winners. i did like how jerry handled being "rejected" live on camera--i thought he was really gracious and went out of his way to not make jen look bad.
what i WAS surprised about was how much i liked jen during the final-date scenes with john paul. it was the first time of the whole show that i actually felt like she was being natural and was enjoyable to watch.
but in general, she seems like a famewhore who just wanted to extend her 15 minutes. both guys came out looking a lot better than she did--i thought all along that jerry was just looking for the attention as well, but he seemed more genuine towards the end. all i know is my "bachelor/ette" watching career is over--i won't be watching the next one.
At first I really liked Jen, but now I don't. She totally hung Jerry out to dry. If she didn't feel that spark between them, I don't know why she had to drag it out for so long. And before John Paul proposed, she kept saying how she didn't question him, she trusted him, blah blah blah. I thought Jerry handled the whole situation so well for someone who just got rejected on national television. As for Jen supposedly dating her boss, did anyone else notice a twinkle in her eye when she denied it and said they were "just friends"?? ha!
It cracked me up when the host asked what happened between Jen and Jerry that changed her mind, he was like "did he talk to much about Thailand?". Ha! She was really shallow throughout the whole show, poor JP. Anways in the previews for the next bachelor, and the girls looked scandalous, tongues everywhere! Ewww...
I didn't watch much this season, but tuned in last night. I used to like her, but not anymore. I think that she's craves fame & w/all her appearances @ award shows & pre-shows, it confirmed it even more.
I agree that Jerry was shocked & didn't believe her "we feel/felt" line. You can't feign shock like his no matter how good an actor you are. The whole series is beyond insane & a total train wreck that I can't bear to tune in any longer.
Call me cynical, but I wonder how much control Jen really had over the situation anyway. ABC needed some kind of ending and although it wasn't exactly the one they were looking for, they had to milk it for all it's worth. I mean they had to have an After the Final Rose special of some sort. Let's face it - there is no such thing as reality television. The producers, Chris Harrison, etc had to have known what was going to happen. Even Jerry - I didn't see the surprise or shock that a lot of you guys saw, to me he didn't seem entirely crushed. As for all Jen's awards show appearances - isn't there the possibility that she has to do that for publicity for the network and the show? I'm not trying to defend the girl (to be honest I don't have a strong feeling about her one way or another), but I don't see her as the problem here. I just wonder how long this poor excuse of reality will continue before the networks find some quality programming.
