girls weekend?
Permalink Closed

My SIL and my birthdays are two days apart- this year we will both be 30. My mom wants to take us on a girls weekend trip as our present.

Any ideas? I suggested San Franscisco which is a possiblity. Looking for any other suggestions for 3-4 days, in the spring, shopping/good restaurants/site seeing and chilling out.
TIA!

NYC is always a good time. Chicago is also great in the spring.

DC is beautiful in the spring and has shopping and good restaurants, although I'm not certain if I go there immediately when I think of "girls weekend."

We went to Cape Cod for a bachelorette party/girls weekend over Labor Day and surprisingly it was a really great place for a girls weekend. There are lots of cute shops, good restaurants, and ways to relax. Ptown has fun nightlife if you're looking for that too. I'd definitely go back.

San Fran would be fun too. It's kind of chilly in spring, at least to me, so keep that in mind. But there are sooo many things to do and see and tons of good food.

I'll 2nd NYC as well. You could stay in a neighborhood and just explore for the entire weekend.

My vote is for SF or Chicago - two of my favorite places!! Both are great for shopping, eating, walking and relaxing. Depending on when you go in the spring, they'll probably be a little chilly, but I don't think it's enough to keep you from having a good time.

I think SF is a great idea! You can priceline some great hotels right in Union Square (I've gotten the Grand Hyatt for only $80 a night) - there is tons of shopping from the big stores and lots of cute boutiques in the more neighborhood areas.

If you rent a car you can go up to Napa or Sonoma and get some wine tasting in as well.  Sausalito is a cute town you can get to via ferry also.  The ride is really nice.
