need suggestions! i was going to go to janovic to pick out some colors! i am thinking soft green or lemon........ i'm not sure yet! i've never had a colorful room before!
Don't worry about brands vs. colors - most places will mix any brands color into any brands paint, if that makes sense . Like if you find a color you like that's and off brand, you could have it made up in a higher quality paint.

I just read in Consumer Reports that Behr paint and Benjamin Moore are really good paints. We have used them both in my house. They look really nice on the walls and they did not need many coats. With cheaper pants sometimes 3 and 4 coats have to be done- if you do darker colors then sometimes you have to do more than that. We had our living room painted a pumpkin color and the painters only needed to do one coat- they ended up doing two because they realized they missed a few spots.

We used Behr paints on our whole house. They were wonderful. Behr is sold at Home Depot. Consumer Reports rated it the #1 interior paint. Just an FYI, the Lowes paint (not sure what the brand is), got the lowest rating. And you can take any paint swatch into any paint store and they'll match the color exactly. The color in my office was actually a swatch I picked up at Lowe's, but took to Home Depot. They can match anything you bring them as long as it's paint swatch sized or bigger.
I agree that Behr and Benjamin Moore are the two best. I like Benjamin Moore the best. It's nice and thick and really grips onto the paint roller so you have less drips.
uh, i've used SO many different kinds over the years (i paint a LOT) and i finally decided to cough up the money and try benjamin moore for my latest project.
what can i say... it's was well worth the money. excellent coverage and it the walls wash up nicely after it's dry. i don't think i'll use anything else now.

Benjamin Moore is the best! My parents painted our whole house in the eggshell finish except for the kitchen and bathrooms which was in high gloss. But you can seriously wipe anyting off the walls...I even doodled on the walls when I was little () and they were able to get it out just fine.
i was a painter while i was in college, so i have tons of experience with paint and benjamin moore is hands down the best. best coverage, easy to apply, washable, and durable. totally worth the money.
i won't even bother with any other paint -- sometimes i will still do a job and i refuse to use any other paint (even if the customer insists -- i'd rather not take the job than have to use crappy paint and then have them complain about the job b/c of their crappy paint)
and as someone said, you can have any color mixed in any paint. i love ralph lauren colors (the paint is notoriously poor quality), so i just take them to my paint store and they mix the color with benjamin moore paint.
thanks everyone for the advice! i'm think i'm going for benjamin moore. i went to janovic and found a few colors that i like. i might get samples and try them out too! :)
