DH and I saw Vicky Cristina Barcelona last night. It was charming and fun! The setting was unfathomably gorgeous (reason enough see the movie), and the casting very good.
It's a Woody Allen movie, so there is the requisite- -and equally unfathomable- -male-fantasy element. But, hey, it features Javier Bardem (frickin' hot!), so I'll excuse it just this one time. It's a good one to see with a girl-friend or your sig-nif.
Thanks for the review. I really want to see this movie. I haven't always been a Woody Allen fan, but I have liked his last few movies and I adore Scarlett Johannssen. Of course, Javier Bardem isn't too bad either!

I looove Woody Allen but haven't really loved anything he's done since Sweet & Lowdown and Small Time Crooks. I went to see this last night and it was pretty enjoyable! Penelope Cruz was hilarious. Are she and Javier really engaged? They seem like a great couple.
I saw it on Friday. I do think it was cast really well, and Scarlett cracked me up just because I kind of think of her as that kind of person who tries too hard to be open-minded. And Vicki reminded me so much of one of my college roommates, right down to the freckles!
Penelope and Javier are soooo good together.
Something about the narrator was weird to me though, I can't put my finger on it.

We went and saw this last night and I was kind of disappointed. I mean, it wasn't horrible -- just not that great. I think Scarlett is a HORRIBLE actress and she really ruins movies for me.
