Iraq voting

Saturday night I went to Detroit, MI. to go to Greektown. On the way there I saw signs on the side e-way that were written in Arabic. I didn't pay a lot of attention because there is a large Arab population, so it really wasn't anything strange. The next sign I noticed was written in Arabic and English- it said, "Iraq voting, next exit". We got off the exit just to kind of take a look at what was going on. There were so many people lined up outside of a building to vote and they couldn't vote for hours still. It was really cold and a little snowy and all these people were standing outside. My boyfriend is a photographer and always carries his camera with him. He wanted to take pictures, because the people were singing and dancing. There were all in a really good mood. We ended up getting out and we talked to so many people. It was really cool. I just thought I would share. We ended up not going to the Casino because it was so late when we got done.

How cool to have witnessed that.
How exciting for them to be able to vote finally, but I'm sure its easier to vote out here then being out there

quick question. How can they vote if they're not currently living in Iraq? Is it like an absentee ballot or something? Sorry to be ignorant...

Yes, it was an absentee ballot deal. Iraqis in a lot of different countries voted.
